A NOTE OF WARNING
We may not want to believe everything that is posted here as for example, the very low prices quoted for bird nest as sold may be postings from bird nests buyers with a hidden agenda. Namely to cause panics and help to influence sellers to become more willing to sell at the low prices. Something like stock traders who caused negative rumors to circulate to cause prices in the stock market to go down before buying them at a bargain. I had indeed heard from people who told me of prices that is quite low but still substantially higher than at least one of the figure given recently.

This is agricultural industry, when supply exceed demand, it means u going get price squeeze till u see ur mama in front also cannot recognise her.

They are a lot of farmers suffering silently.......holding on their anger toward officers n govt.....which is not really good for our pm......

They don't really realise how many actually affected by it........

200kg sold for 1.3 ....sure cry liked baby...

My friend sold it at 1......don't even know how to cry.....just numb....n felt the pain till today.....

Many pioneers are helping to hold their stocks n this help to prevent total collapse of bn....cross fingers Chinese will start to buy bn as gifts during fullmoon festival....
*
Same same here,

" My friends (above 200 of them) each sold about 1 ton @ average RM550 per kg. While holding the $ in hands, cried along the way home. "

" Forced harvests are very rampant nowadays. 1 day forced harvests 3 times as recommended by his well-known consultant. (collect meranti wood skin?)"

" More drastic friends burnt down their BHs to make land for palms and rubber trees. "

The Truth is in the Eye of the Beholder.

Stay on in this stride, true brothers !

Totally agreed with you. We now have so many panic selling and there isn't anyway to reverse the panic selling.

Like I said, just afew days ago, one of my friend sold AB @ RM2300 but last week, others sold @ Rm2500 and just this morning, a friend phone up and asked if I have nests to sell and my reply was that there will be if price is right and I asked him for a quote instead of me wanting to sell @ what price cos my asking will never be the price the buyer like. So, he quoted me just RM1800 for AB and if this goes on, we shall be better off selling ice cream. I am not asking all to hold back cos Malaysian are only 20% of the total export of EBN and the Indo owners are the one who decide up or down as they own over 70& of the EBN. I am proud of myself for at least I do my part and any future downfall of the nests isn't my doing at least, I didn't contribute to it's down....So far, I was doing well cos when others are selling at Rm2000, I secure Rm2500 for me and my friends but recently, I am facing backlash from buyers that seem to know my trick and by bypass me and going straight to my friends and spread the bad news that the sky is falling and and fast.causing many sell off cheaply. Even if the sky is falling, at least by holding on, we may have a future otherwise, better go rearing chicken or anything because everything is going up and EBN is going down and not just down but very fast, too just like share market; today Rm2300, tomorrow Rm2000.

I know that we are all afraid but we must not allow buyers to pull us by the nose. We decide our own future and if you can't, best go out of the industry immediately for at least you shall get a higher price for your BH for the future of industry is still uncertain due to inability of our Gmen. BH @ town suffer the most dut the uncertainty of the price and the lessen problem facing the town's BH. BH which easily change hand @ Rm3M, now no more than 50% cos the BH is no longer taken for consideration unlike previous, Rm1K per nest excluding Bld.

Three weeks ago, it is rm2.1k rm1.8k, rm1.5k, rm1.2k.

One week later, the same buyer offer the same minus rm300 each.

Last week, ask again...keep it...not buying yet.

Guess have to wait one more month...

the market price is set by willing buyer willing seller. if price is not suitable for us then dont sell lo. I have friend who usually harvest about 20 odd kilo a month have not been harvesting for 7 month already. He say price too low, he do not want to harvest. I call him up recently, still have not harvest. respect.

True, they will quote u different prices depends on their stock now desperate u are.

I myself never sell any of my ab nest below 2k, I just wait...

We cannot just show/tell the best prices here...this will cause wrong signal send out to officers n govt n think that we are ok what...

Look at those knowledgeable RFID suggestions n recommendAtion...u know how much they knew abt this trade.

We knew the best price is rm1.8k at the moment, but that is for the cup nest...how abt the rest which easily contribute 40% of total nests u harvest n this figures is for established farms..others will have higher %...

Dt make the same mistake again n only show the best scenario to them else they think we are super rich cow that they can milk...the reality...not many....

in reality many new guys like me just invested heavily not even reach harvesting capacity now very disappointed after 2 years of hard work, the outlook is so bad. But I will forge ahead as this investment is not for me, is for my future children.

what I dont understand are those whos BH already capable of producing 20kg or more settling for under RM 1000/kg. if you already had that capacity, you already untung alot during the good days. bad money management? *sigh* difficult times. dont mean to offend anyone just curious.

I am not selling low if the price of nest in the market is still strong. By the way, does anyone know how much they are selling in Shanghai now per kg? It's a good benchmark to sell our raw nest, no price manipulation.

Reliable info this morning, Vietnam now facing shortage of bn...Yes,vietnam is lack of nest but reason is after few malaysian got tangkap there & kastam there has rise their kopi money to US$100/1kg so tis only create raw prices to drop& sales also dame slow there,,,,,

Indonesia already exporting bn directly to china this month......yes indo r exporting direct into CN as they smugller raw into CN as they dont last time they usually sell to factory to process cause that bring more profits but now even their godzilas&dino r not buying.Contacted few in APPSWI
http://appswi.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html that handle their country export to CN say they still have a long way to go as after signing e MOU (pic below) they aready submit 8qualifile company & waiting for http://www.aqsiq.gov.cn/ to come over indo fr inspections first then register to them only then they r qualifile to export. So jus 1word they provide ""still a long way to go"but our malay cai only cakap only not sign yet & after signing still hav month to go...indo has signed at april but our nor jus hold hands only...

Middle guys fr Indonesia are pressing our prices as we are unable to export to china......middle guys r not pressing but langsung tak mahu beli even their own nest back home as HK now r dead meat so they jus offer u an gila prices lo,,,

Hopefully next month see some lights.....light??wat light??lampu sulur?lampu potong getah?or doom light....

Agreed.
To add on to the confusion.... not directly related to EBN prices.
My lady and my in law just got back from a visit to HK and China.
While in HK there was a particular shop that sells dried seafood that was having a sale and disclosed that there were clearing stock and closing shop for a new biz line.... guess what ? EBN... what is it they know that we do not ?
HK folks closing dried seafood shop to go into something that folks on this forum is moaning and groaning about?
We would expect the exact opposite wouldn't we?

What I see around me is that the market will evolve into new form as the once leading player replaced by other player. No surprise if you see one's stocks are not moving while others' stock are moving in the market. The moving stocks cleared the custom with 17% GST fully paid. The reshuffling of players are imminent and dealings are probably more ethical than before. But hell, What do I know? Just what I see around me.
