No wonder it always happened when I was talking over the phone near to the decoder .. sweat.gif
Thanks for the feedback ..
*
I think no problem if you use it around decoder... because I always charge my phone using USB from Astro decoder... I think that only applied to dish and LNB only...

So all this while Astro has been managing to get away with breaking the terms of its licence?! So what else is new in Bolehland where Big Business runs the government.

Assteruk has always been breaking promises. As I mentioned before, an assteruk ex-engineer I've met once told me that assteruk has no rights to tamper with the incoming feed as it's a violation of the contracts with the providers. And yet assteruk censor MTV, censor news (BBC's anger was understandable, assteruk wasn't supposed to tamper with their feed as per the contract), advertisements injected into the signal, etc.

Assteruk has been playing dirty for years, and not only they're allowed to get away with it, they're practically given "protection" from competitors and given rights to monopolize channels (i.e. ensure channels they're carrying cannot be carried on competing networks) by the gomen. This has to stop.

Astro customer service really sucks.

They promise 48 hours to fix problem but they only called me at 60 hours after reporting problem.

Worst still, the solution is really childish, instead of finding out what are the real problems, they decide to just change the whole decoder !

All my recorded programs are gone ! cry.gif

This is a stupid and lazy way to solve problems.

All those BEST OF THE BEST AWARD are all bullshit ! More like WORST OF THE WORST AWARD should be given to ASTRO.

i have a question and need your help...

recent i moved to a new house which i had the contractor to conceal my astro cable...

but i had doubt of the quality of cable used by the contractor as they are not new....

i dont know if its me psychoing myself or not but i find the picture after moving to be a bit 'noisy' even for Byond HD pictures (much apparent for SD channels).....

1. is it correct for me to attribute the fault to the cables or there is no such thing?

2. is there a way to measure the quality of picture we are seing?

3. is the IP tv service availble yet?

Many factors can play a part in this, but by right signal from dish to decoder is digital, and for digital there's no such thing as subtle degradation quality- usually it's can get or cannot get only, and if it's poor connection the signal will fluctuate madly, so picture will be erratic.

Technically, there is no such thing as snow/noise, shadowing and wavy image in digital signal. However you can get intermittent errors like part of image didn't update, image corruption and audio squeak and squeals due to poor connection.

I'd advise checking to see if your power supply is stable, TV not near interference-generating equipment like Microwave Oven, Handphone, any motorized equipment or WiFi router, and making sure your TV is connected to decoder by HDMI and not analog (Baeyong doesn't output HD in Component anyway due to "analog sunset").

Use the satellite signal measurement meter on the decoder. If readout is lower than before, then you know something isn't right.

If you have Time BB in your area, yes. Otherwise, you're SOL.

ESS brings Spanish football to local shores

Regional - Sports content provider ESPN STAR Sports has secured exclusive rights to broadcast the Spanish La Liga football matches until 2015 across 19 markets in Asia.

As the official broadcaster of the La Liga matches on multiple platforms, ESS hopes to attract advertisers in the mobile, FMCG, retail and consumer electronics space across local and regional markets.

It will provide coverage through its broadcast channels on its television, online through its ESPN Player, and Mobile ESPN.

To allow local viewers more convenience, the matches will also be scheduled earlier from 6pm and 12 midnight.

According to ESS MD, Manu Sawhney (pictured), the acquisition of Spanish La Liga underlines its commitment to football fans in Singapore.

Sawhney said ESS had established a strong tradition of building top-class football properties on its networks.

"We are committed to work towards further strengthening the profile of the league in the market."

Earlier this year, ESPN Star Sports also partnered with Grey Group Singapore to create a digital campaign for Singapore football fans with the start of the FA Cup. ESPN is also the official broadcaster of the London 2012 Olympic Games and will be providing round the clock coverage.

Well, IMO, no, Assteruk is still comfortable. Unless fiber rollout speed is increased to rival that of Thailand (they manage to rollout fiber to cover whole nation in a matter of months! Here we are at the second year and it's still only many (not all) towns of West Peninsula Malaysia! Even Georgetown in Penang dun have, only Bayan Lepas!), Assteruk will still enjoy being in the lead. Also, from what I heard, due to some stupidity by TM some areas will never get fiber rollout (i.e. Industrial parks where internet usage is supposedly low. Nevermind that high-tech industries like R&D labs need blazing fast fiber HSBB to conduct business- it's like gomen is trying to discourage formation of high-tech industries).

the same story here in johore, the best coverage availiable 1mbps!!!!!!!I too suspect the govt is behind all these hanky panky,so many players but all with own plans to monopolise.Unifi from TM to me is actually nothing but highly priced.maxis could be a threat, celcom good as dead!As u said asstro may still find some comfort as long mr.Rise is there. icon_rolleyes.gif

can Astro Byond signal be delivered using conventional antenna coaxial cable ah?
let's say, replacing the TV antenna with Astro dish, using the existing cable from the TV antenna to connect to the astro dish, can run or not

btw the antenna cable is concealed within the wall, that's why dun wanna drill holes lay additional cable coz it looks ugly
