Remove all setting for schedule recording to make sure NO future schedule recording is set. Then try switch off your Byond (not standby), wait a few minutes, then switch on again.

I have switch off 2 times and waited more than one hour already, the problem is still there.

The clock is still normal and don't show 00:00.

My scheduled recording are all removed automatically after the 100 free channels and I cannot remove it manually.

So there is nothing to record and I cannot record.

I think this is to prevent people from recording the 100 free channels and distributing them. eg. Astro on demand, astro first etc.

So I need confirmation from other subscribers.

Their customer service sucks, I tried to call them but cannot get through many times.

If this "reboot" method still do not solve your problem, then call Astro Customer Support for help and to check that your PVR function is not accidentally deactivated because of this 10 day "free" 130 channels.

I just called astro customer support this morning. They say they will try to activate my pvr recording function and ask me to wait after one hour.

After 8 hours also, problem still not solved !

astro technical support SUCKS!

I think it is because of the 100 free channels 10 days problem.

Can anyone else with PVR confirm ?

Astro customer service really sucks.

They promise 48 hours to fix problem but they only called me at 60 hours after reporting problem.

Worst still, the solution is really childish, instead of finding out what are the real problems, they decide to just change the whole decoder !

All my recorded programs are gone ! cry.gif

This is a stupid and lazy way to solve problems.

All those BEST OF THE BEST AWARD are all bullshit ! More like WORST OF THE WORST AWARD should be given to ASTRO.

I think it's because of Astro package promotion. For those who subscribe for package worth rm50/month, you will have up to 60 days free preview to all channels. For those who has already an existing Astro basic package subscriber will have this kind of free preview too. The promotion is not available for Astro first, Astro box office movies and Astro box office sports. For more info please view the link below:

I don't understand !

You mean new customers get free previews for 60 days only ?

For existing customer, how many days free preview ?

Up to you to decide if it is worth it to pay RM 50. In my personal opinion, I have decided NOT to pay extra to the blood-sucking dracula, As*teruk, to watch the London Olympics... its NOT worth it !

Astro Arena Ch 801 is "free" for all subscribers (except NJOI) so will also show selected live sports events. For the recently ended Euro Cup, many live matches (including Finals) were shown in Astro Arena eventhough not all. So why pay extra ?
*
Thanks for the answer.

Astro Arena CH 801 is heavy on football, badminton etc which I am not interested in.

When is Astro toll free ? I thought all 1-300 phone call are chargeable from landline.

This is what I stated in my earlier reply... "just a phone call (toll-free from land-lines) to Astro Customer Support". I did not say anything about "free" or "chargeable" calls because I thought you understood. Mmm... I didn't say its free.

*
Thanks for explaining 1-300 , I am in KL, so no difference.

Anyway, I don't call astro anymore as they take ages to reply, waste my call charges.

I have asked this question to so-called 'speaker salesmen' in shops and they don't know the answer.

Hopefully, someone smart can answer me here.

I want to connect my astro byond box to a pair of speaker.

But I don't want to buy an amplifier because I don't have much space.

Can anyone recommend a good clear pair of PORTABLE speaker mainly for clear voice.

It must have direct connection cable to astro byond.

Since I have "HD Service", I also tested without HDMI connection. I pulled out and disconnected the HDMI cable connection, used the Component Video (red, green, blue) to connect and HDMI: On is still shown.
*
HDMI port is ON when you pay extra rm 20. Even though you don't subscribe to HD channels it is still OFF.

I am going to retire very soon and in my 20+ years of technical work for PC hardware/software and Audio Visual solutions, I have faced so many different requests that have given me so many sleepless nights ! Obviously not from
ohmy.gif notworthy.gif A sifu here !

Thanks for all the explanation. I appreciate it.

I got one portable logitech speaker for my laptop which is connected via USB. The sound is very clear.

I am going to look for another logitech to connect to my astro byond box later.

Would it be simpler to connect via speakers out or headphone jack at the TV side?  Then any powered speakers (or un-powered if your TV supports) will do the work.

I have tried this already. Unfortunately, the sound quality is mediocre as there is loss of signal and volume.
