Wat is the benefit of holding both SG and MY driving license at the same time. It is not a requirement anyway and u need to pay both sides money.
*
If one of your licences is blacklisted, you still have the other licence to ensure continuity.

And using the right licence on the right side will smoothen a lot of things. From procedural issues when you're hiring a car, reduce your insurance expense to emotional issues when you're stopped by police, JPJ, appealing your fines etc etc.

I may be thinking too much, but I see no downsides and only upsides to holding on to my MY licence.

Well I understand they are not hirer.. But by personally going to their agency company may let them know that ... I'm really interested in this job area, and hope they can help me on this. Even more they will understand my personal education and working background even better. I just worry whether they are okie to "entertain" people like me if I actually go there next Monday.

No harm trying....those who succeed is those who take extra effort to do something......treat it as a holiday as well.....can go shop at Orchard and bring back some LV or Gucci bags for your mama and sister...... biggrin.gif

Just think this way, what if your Singapore license kena gantung or suspend for whatever reason. then, you need to drive in Malaysia (or Overseas like US etc), at least you have a valid driving license to be used. And the yearly fee to maintain a malaysia license is just RM20....not a big deal, right? I know some are not agree to this, most probably they cant afford the RM20 or there is no need for them to use the Malaysia license in other place or they never drive in Singapore and hence their license will never kena gantung or suspend.....etc etc....

i got mine convert to SG license since 09/2007 till now and i drive MY car anywhere go through roadblock without any problem.
I check with jpj officer, they say can use SG license to drive around MY. I ask them what if i got summon that issue by JPJ or Traffic because im using Sg license? they told me bring the summon to them to get cancell. If u make offence and kena summon, then kena pay lar.

its an offence if u have 2 driving license as told by JPJ officer. So if u have 2 license and drive in MY, better show them ur MY license and keep safe ur SG license. Otherwise...hahaha....

JPJ's lying.

You don't have to "give up" or have your MY licence "blacklisted" if you have any other country's driving licence, apart from Singapore. Lots of people hold driving licences from Aust, NZ, Thai, US, UK, HK etc.

abit confuse when u say got blacklisted because convert to Sg license. My 1 didnt blacklist, and i still can buy MY car using Sg license last year march.
Buy car in MY, u submit the requirement paperwork plus your SG salary playslip, employment letter is a VERY FAST approval 1. the salesman is more happy to serve you cause they know if u bought car from him, his/her Comm is positively secure. hahaha...

Maybe they dont like if u have MY/SG license together. if u have driving licences from Aust, NZ, Thai, US, UK, HK etc but u can't use it here too.
1 of my contractor fren kena saman because during roadblock, he show TP his MY license, then the TP ask him got SG license or not, he slip mouth accidently say yes. then he kena saman.

seriously, i see no point doing so. recruiters are trying very hard to get candidates to work for their client. they are more desperate than you do.
because they earn commision base on the pay u get from your future employer. in fact, my recruiter actually scare that i would not take up the job offer and ask me to promise her that i will take up the job when she can fight for X amount of salary for me (which is the highest her client can offer).

no lah, they get commission based on a multiple/percentage of the candidate's agreed salary. so it's not in their interest to suppress salary.

technically, what u say is correct.
however, it does not mean they cannot do what i said.
u still get paid by the agency who gets paid by the main company.
any hanky panky can happen in between. laugh.gif laugh.gif

It is true... They do get commission based on their client. But with so many disadvantage towards the malaysian who are applying singapore job. Its better to personally go there and submit resume to show sincerity. Unless you have a good qualifications background. I don't see there is any bad for going personally to submit resume. I don't like sitting duck waiting them to respond. I must take some actions too if this carries on forever.

You can say this is a passion of going to Singapore work. laugh.gif
