Good day Seniors in SG,

I'm currently in my final year for my degree (mechanical engineering) here in Japan, and planning where should I start my career once I grad: Malaysia or Singapore.

Need some advice on this. I have no clue at all how to jump start in SG. Dumped my resume in jobstreet & jobsdb. Might be way too early for me to send in my resume now. Another question is when should I start sending in my resume? I will grad during Feb 2013. Thanks in advance.

I see. I'm thinking of start working immediately after I grad, around March 2013. There's a problem which is I can't attend any interview in SG until I'm back from JP for good. The only chance I have is Sept this year, will be back in MY for summer break. Should I send in my resume before that and try my luck?

i dun think employers would want to wait for a fresh grad for half a year.
unless u have very specialized skills.
just my opinion. icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

0 experience 0 skills just some papers which I think won't help much. Which means I still have to come back and do job hunt for a few months till I get my job?

living in JB is just like living in any part of Malaysia. You get the Malaysian feel when u were there like (mamak stall, shopping centre like Tesco, Jusco, cinema that has all the new movies)
traveling is not really that bad. if u can ride a bike, then just ride a bike in. it takes around 20-30mins to queue at the immigration, other than that its normal travel. so u just need to spend 30 mins extra per trip to enjoy the benefits of spending RM and earning SGD and also super cheap rental compare to SG.

Correct.
Previous year. So in April 2013 you're paying the tax due for the entire year of 2012.
can buy resale hdb flat
can quit your job like a boss and no need to leave the country.

HI deodorant.

I started my job on last year September, so did I need to pay tax for 2012 April or I just need to pay tax in 2013 april. Confusing. swt rclxub.gif

What IT line you are in? If networking its kinda easy to get here. I've managed a few interviews till I can pick which company I want.
*
Isn't? I finding for job in Network engineer in SG as well. But I can't get any proper network engineer job. My job now the position is Network Engineer but the job scope I do for everyday is just like IT support. Install software, install PC, remove printer that kind of things and not alot of things to do. So can day day go back on the spot. rclxub.gif But my aim is to be network enigneer with configuration router and switch. I have a degree in network, and also complete my CCNA1 to 4 academic exam, now just planning to take the CCNA final exam before end of the year. rclxm9.gif

Which is your favorite international bank in Singapore?
Which is your favorite broker for trust, Fx and Stocks in Singapore?

I currently have DBS/POSB for salary, MBB SG for regional link bank M'sia. Thinking of getting one overseas bank for its facility and credit card (StanChart/Citi/HSBC or even ANZ). For trading, I've explored DBS Vickers, Oanda for Fx.
