QUOTE(Gaius B @ Jan 18 2012, 10:58 AM) lol who are you?? Reza doing master now Jaz went back, with his RSX in contena? Hey man, Just apply job when you almost going to finish your final sem, like 3 month before you finish the exam. Normally it take 2months to get reply from some job. And interview you dont need to scare where you are, if the company really have interest in you they will do a call interview before ask you to come over SG to interview. And also if you pass the 1st interview on phone, that is no problem they wait your for another few month to come over SG for 2nd interview. If the company really desperate on people they also wont call you la. But one things MUST remember is you much write in your resume currently in Japan, and available for start working on what date. (For example Available to start work on: 3 March 2013)

I don't have anymore exams but just the thesis and research to do. So from your advice 3 months in advance is well enough for job hunting. What else I need to state in my resume? Almost all end user company doesn't have distinct scope for IT support engineer, let alone your demand on "configure switch and router only". They're usually divides into MIS, Infra, and Security only. Network Engineer most likely falls under Infra, and sadly you're going to be responsible for almost every IT equipments across the building.
Get your much needed experience, then move on to big MNC, banks or vendor.

I would also recommend just dropping your resume before you graduate. If you're good enough to warrant an interview, they can do it over the phone. My wife got hired this way 6 months before she completed her Masters degree.

Also, be familiarised with the format of the resume preferred by the employers in SG. Most of them would require a picture (yes, I know it's very biased)

QUOTE(roci @ Jan 18 2012, 09:34 AM) in March ull be attached to which company at singapore? u manage to find a hse over ther? march like a very short notice for me I only had 2 weeks to settle my accomodation and move to SG when I got transferred last time. March is like forever from now. But a word of advice. Take your time to find a place that you are comfortable staying in! When I first got here I rented a room from an aunty from hell. Used to go through my stuff when I was away at work even though I locked the doors. Creepy!

Actually IMO, JB one is better than Klang (I tried the Klang in Bandar Utama near Giza). This one got the white mushroom and claypot ginger chicken. Shiok! Very famous store. Old but good. One day if you drive up, you can pass by my place in Yishun. I belanja and you provide transport. We gorge till no tomorrow and comeback with one big muscle. Set? Singapore bkt not as good. I tried the one at Rangoon road. Too spicey.

Sure or not? I tot klang bkt is standard with the franchises in KL? Taste should be the same rite? U mean the Klang one is not franchised? Which shop ah? I go try after CNY. For sgls to rent. If you horny. You are lucky with the divorced, single, makeup and extremely friendly lady owner. Who knows you can rent for free. Then cabut later... lol.
