Hi guys, wanted to move my house from SuriaMas to Lagoon Perdana, and plan to sign up new UNIFI 5MBps package.

I saw that there is still free installation and a month free, is it still applicable?

And I heard that I need to wait long for contractor to come, in average, how long do I need to wait? Thanks

Homeplug is for LAN cable. Unifi Router -> HomePlug -> IPTV (No probs)

PC via homeplug to your LCD TV? Your TV got LAN connectivity? Or are you using a media player at your TV?

hi,

anybody here know how to set up the static ip for unifibiz user?

last time the guy that install my unifi didn't set up the static ip (which is actually privillege for biz user) and leave my connection just like home user, so i also got dynamic ip. =.=

why i want to use static?

because i want to access my router remotely from home, so i can turn off the wifi at night when nobody use it at office.

better to do so... coz is the TM DIR-615 is very poor quality unless u flash with DD-WRT firmware for more stability (of course no IPTV Support. Before i change to Asus router the DIR-615 is always disconnect from internet and wifi always disconnect and weak signal. after i change already have improvement on the signal for whole house. Even outside the house for 10-20 meters also get the wifi signal from asus Router. Asus is a great brand that i can recommand. since i use 2 unit router and my customer use asus networking product without any complaint so far with around 10 unit Asus RT-N13U B1 Sold.

as my setup at my GF house is BTU - Asus RT-N13U B1 Router - Prolink WNR 1008 Gigabit Router (AP Mode to PC, Handphone & Tablet) / TM DIR-615 (AP Mode to Smart TV, Game Console, HTPC & NDS). coz the PC and Smart TV is at Different Place so i decide to use 2 AP for less cable.

as my House Setup is BTU - Asus RT-N16 Gigabit Router (Computer Room 1st Floor) - Belkin F7D2301AK (AP Mode to Smart TV and my Mom's PC at Living Hall. 2 Cat5e cable from computer room to living hall for Unifi IPTV and the Belkin AP.

so u can try to get 1 and u will supprise with the performance. especially with RT-N16.

can a modem router become AP mode? as i can use my old belkin product, or do i need to purchase new router? asus good? belkin? cisco? netgear?

Bro, u apply thru agent or?

And if the new apartment I rent is just 800+ square feet, even the "weak" UNIFI router work well right?

DHCP is the one that give ur pc the IP

so u hv many PC/laptop/idevice in ur network, each need its own ip.....

but TM can give u one IP only... so u buy router... the router takes IP from TM, then give all ur device a private IP....

so now all ur device can connect bcoz router manage them all and using only one IP from TM laugh.gif .... and only one IP is needed from TM bcoz ur router give them all private "internal" IP

This function (giving private IP) is done automatically by DHCP

so everything is good like this if u hv one router in ur network..

if u hv two, both give private IP... BUT only one of them hv the TM IP... so the other one when give private IP no internet.....

This is why I tell u DISABLE DHCP on second router, then it will be like access point onli....
bcoz it doesn't give private IP... ur main router give IPs, this one only make a link and allow u to use wireless...

in short, u only need one DHCP in ur network (one router), if hv other router connected must keep its DHCP disabled (turn DHCP off)...

hope u got it bro rclxms.gif

Still got. I think only one free dyndns host. If cannot register on dyn.com, then go to dlinkddns.com and register there. You can use the same login on dyn.com.
