That drill is enough for you to drill some concrete. But make sure it is 400w or above.

Thank you, thank you.

Still doing my research. Now asking my neighbours their experince drilling thru their home wall.

Now, very likely I'll go for the rotary drill.

I don't no which 1 more important for you. The saving or the type of work.

For saving 2in1, Impact drill can save your money. Cause it can use for wall and any normal drilling. For screw, just use screw driver.

Or train yourself how to control it. The impact drill like bosch is speed controllable.

Otherwise you got to buy 2 type of drill.

I use a lot of impact drill for Ikea furniture assembly. Not a problem at all.

yes u are correct smile.gif
but i found last time corded drill give me too much hassle in assembling furniture especially the complicated one.
first, the size is big and will have restriction on accessibility
second, all the tangling wire make me uncomfortable rclxub.gif

any one here owns SKIL2414 or GSR10.8 any differences? also does any one know the cordless skill and bosch 10.8 li battery is the same?  many thanks
*
Eng_Tat, as my previous post biggrin.gif
i've just bought a cordless skil 2414 10.8v but i dont own Bosch 10.8v
i only tested the display set at the hardware shop
but these are my understanding:

1. Skil 2414 is light compared to Bosch. but the battery capacity is same. my assumption, battery power would be no difference.

2. Skil 2414 having lower torque and lower rpm. Bosch is doing better in terms of torque and RPM.

3. Price is huge different. Skil 2414 is lithium ion battery and cost at RM300. Bosch is more than RM4++. if your budget is rm300, u can get a Bosch with same capacity but using Ni-Cd battery, price at rm300++

Just use the screw driver if you want to save. It is not your everyday job right ? And you as strong as a man? flex.gif

screw driver cannot penetrate steel, bro
its not my everyday job but it is one of my hobby.
i dont drill my brick wall every year but i drill scrap steel plate, scrap steel bar and screw/unscrew unused furniture almost every month. thats why i opt for cordless.

actually for weight, it is second priority for me because a DIY person normally already adapt to it.
but still, it is better to be light instead of bulky tongue.gif

im bought skill 2414 after reading gud feedback from user mostly from US...very satisfied with gud battery life ,grips and nice carrying bag..with the price  cheaper than bosch you can buy extra drill bits  sets..that what i do thumbup.gif

same to me.
Skil 2414 is definitely worth to own it. very light and comfortable enuf.

Was just surveying around for drill and i bumped into this wonderful thread..guess my usage will be similar to most already asked here..minor drillings in my condo. Walls included..wsa budgeting around rm300 for a drill. Googled around for what to look for, otherwise i might have chosen the one with the most attractive box which in my case is the black and deckers  tongue.gif

Was seriously considering the 12v black and decker EPC12 for my usage.
*
Cordless drill brand Skil 2414 is rm290 with nylon carrying case
if u go for black n decker, its much cheaper because its NiCD battery but comes with metal case with 120++ drill bits.
for me its a good one but the only drawback is the NiCD battery.
u need to full charge and full discharge before u can use it back. if ur ok with this, then Black n Decker is a good for u smile.gif
