Getting Started

I've just moved in to a new place and wanna start with some DIY projects, mainly home furniture and fixtures (which needs drilling to the concrete wall). I live in a condo, build somewhere in the early 2000s. Now after reading the thread, it seems like the way to go is a rotary hammer drill with another drill to screw stuffs. I can still budget for the above but am I better off saving that money and buy myself this drill that is currently on sale ACE Hardware? http://www.acehardware.com.my/Promotions_4_1.htmWill it still do its job? Am afraid after purchasing nanti, cannot drill to my concrete wall pulak. If no, then I'll just but the infamous Makita rotary hammer. Thank you all. QUOTE(H2D @ Mar 2 2014, 10:22 PM) brick wall or concrete wall?? i have a 700W... bosch gsb 16re impact drill... brick still ok ok , but if concrete when it hits the stone.... will have a hard time drilling.... rotary hammer is kinda limited to masonry work/drilling, unless the chuck can be changed, or u put an adapter, but tht 'll feel not as smooth the rotation.... Definitely concrete wall. Yah, that's the challenge, only limited to that. I might just get a decent rotary drill and the one that is on sale. Anyways, thank you This post has been edited by djlake: Mar 3 2014, 11:34 PM

QUOTE(ozak @ Mar 2 2014, 08:46 PM) That drill is enough for you to drill some concrete. But make sure it is 400w or above. Oh okay, thank you

QUOTE(H2D @ Mar 5 2014, 01:12 AM) tht is an impact drill, not rotatry drill.... Thank you, thank you. Still doing my research. Now asking my neighbours their experince drilling thru their home wall. Now, very likely I'll go for the rotary drill.
