I am thinking of SKIL 1715, 550w, and cheap. Wonder if that will be a better tool to replace my old hammer drill.

Brought myself a 2470. Did not put it to real test. Just did some no load testing. Feel like hammering is on the light side. Maybe is because no load.

QUOTE(JinXXX @ Nov 14 2011, 10:02 PM) damn the makita i bought seems like the best toy i ever bought I use my makita till now white color, need to take blower to clean it. Use too many time. Another good investment is variable speed grinder. Diamond cutter + rotary make conceal cabling so easy.tested it out today drilling a 12mm hole effortlessly... chiseling out a hole using the hammer only function so easy and effortlessly.. (chiseling out a hole on red brick wall) damn its the best tool to have.. impact drill sorry i have to abandon you already.. once you go rotary you can't go back After makita, I brought variable speed grinder, and dig back my old sander, Bosch spray gun. Got myself a set of polisher for marble / cement / granit. |

QUOTE(bahathir @ Nov 15 2011, 01:56 PM) Since the tree's root already made the bump, IMHO, it is not that difficult to remove the stones. Road is made from a stones glued together by tar, and I don't see any problem to remove it with chisel or bullpoint. I only have 4" Grinder, where got 9" Or, how about using 9" grinder with stone/masonry cutting wheel, this might can to the trick. |

That type of drill bits expensive, unless you use it very frequent on the same size than is good to invest one. Else normal SDS bit will do. Not that you make 100s of holes a week.
