That is correct.

Principal for both AMEX and Visa/MC only a single RM50 GST.

Supp Cards RM25 for AMEX plus RM25 for Visa/MC = RM50.

I thought the AMEX waived the RM50 GST but the VISA/MASTER pair card is charging RM50 GST. Hence, a lot ppl confused coz MBB2 pair cards are 25/25. I did ask CS regarding cancel the the VISA pair card, but they said cannot coz it is pair card. Unlike Direct Access pair card.

Techically, as requirements from BNM all credit cards issued will be charged RM50 GST.
And its the same with Maybank 2 Kard. Just that Maybank is offering auto/free waive for Amex (or either one) of the card.
If u check ur statement u will see both cards actually charged RM50 but one of them will automatically credited.

And yes canot cancel either 1 must have both, that is the condition for the RM50 GST thingy.

Applied almost 2 weeks ago and now it is still in decision. Just checked the status at the branch I applied which is Cyberjaya. Does it really need to be this long ? Will they notify if it is rejected ?

CS said still doesn't has this application updated to their system , so I went to their branch , and the branch worker say it is still in decision . That's why I'm wondering what takes them so long to make the decision , it's either approve/reject , doesn't need that long right , especially if Maybank 1U can process it in 1 hour . Conclusion , avoid Maybank Cyberjaya branch if you want to apply CC .

You know spending doesn't justify the conversion. It is if you fulfill the platinum's requirements. smile.gif

Requirement is ok, that's mean i can upgrade to platinum but how should i proceed? Just feel a bit unfair coz SCB gave me platinum which i seldom use (useless card), still prefer MBB2 card (Amex) which giving more points. hahaha.

you can try calling in to the CS. It might be handled like a new application though. For sure need to submit income docs.

Note: the difference between the gold and plat is not much. Up to you to decide whether you want to go through the hassle. I certainly don't see what is "unfair" about the whole matter. What reason SCB decide to give you plat does not need to apply to MBB right, being different banks and all?

Download the card upgrade form, and submit together with the income documents. GST will be charged.

I called CS previously for my redemption, 1st CS said it's 1 day. Then when it's not there, i called again and 2nd CS said actually need 3 days....

in any case, my situation is i only redeem GST 2 days before the GST last payment date, and the 2nd CS said that since i redeem before the last payment date, if i got charge for late payment, i can call CS again to write it off

turns out i was really charged for late payment, called up CS, no issue in writing it off, though it takes a few days to reflect on M2U

For the GST RM50 charge, normally I make the payment for it first.
Then wait for the 10k TP to reflect -RM50, after all, next month I'm going to spend more than RM50 also.

Save me trouble to worry, call up CS, waste time hear ringing tone, etc.

oh? that's possible? i was thinking after i paid for GST, i wun be allowed to redeem the GST.

If that's the case, what's the restriction? can only redeem GST once a year? and doesnt matter when?

Yes, after show in statement (online) then redeem TP for GST.

e.g. if spend RM100 and GST RM50 = total RM150, you pay RM150, MBB won't specifically allocate the payment. Therefore, redeem TP is actually give back RM50 cash to you (into CC).

In fact, if you have 20k TP, try this. Call up to redeem GST today. Tomorrow, do the same thing, but do not reference to the one you did yesterday. Treat both calls as separate individual request to redeem. See if you can get RM100 from 20k TP rolleyes.gif

I got double redemption last year 20k TP for RM100 rebate into the MBB-2-Amex CC. So, I don't need to redeem Jusco voucher. whistling.gif Which means I can swipe (instead of use voucher) and get 5% weekend + 5x TP wink.gif

This year I may try 3-4 times ... see can get 40k TP = RM200 or not tongue.gif

From your experiences, using MBB 2 AMEX vs OCBC Titanium to buy stuffs from eBay, which card gives the best overall value rebate?
