That is correct.

Principal for both AMEX and Visa/MC only a single RM50 GST.

Supp Cards RM25 for AMEX plus RM25 for Visa/MC = RM50.

If u need to use the card now, ask them whether they will cancel the card straight or u can continue use the card until new card arrive (usually 1 week)

Maybankard official facebook site says I'm unable to apply for the Maybankard 2 Gold as I do not have the most recent 2 months payslip. However, some say that using an offer letter is enough proof to apply for it? Planning to go to 1U this week if I am able to apply for it. Any1 has any idea whether 1U maybankard center allows for the credit card application using only offer letter?

I think i just found a way to make some cash back from the card, and Maxis users.

Its an electronic wallet (failed one actually) a joint project between Maxis and Maybank (and Old Town White Coffee), back 6 years ago.


Anyway back to it....
Looks like you can Cash-In (reload) using credit card (MBB 2 Kard) either via Maxis MASA, or e-Pay merchants..
And then you may use the credit to either pay for Maxis/Hotlink bill or option to Cash-Out at Maxis MASA Centre..

Lets count the costs..
Cash-In via e-Pay = 0.5% fee of Cash-In amount or Min RM.050 for each transaction
Cash-Out directly to Bank Account = RM0.15/transaction

So with weekend 5% cash back + 5x TP earning - RM0.50 (for RM100) = earning cash back roughly RM7.

Can also opt to Cash-Out at Maxis MASA, not sure got charges or not..

Chances are slim coz u do not have any loan history.. But u can always try..

looks like a good idea to earn side income, anyone tried it already ? not sure whether they allow topup using credit card or not

Not sure about other merchants, but im sure SenHeng or SenQ can..
Just like can use to reload Touch n Go card...

Anyway, its just my theory.... It may work..
I might go try this weekend if im free.. Even if after Cash-In cant Cash-Out via cash, can still use the credit to pay Maxis bill.

You know spending doesn't justify the conversion. It is if you fulfill the platinum's requirements.

If such case, not worth to upgrade now. Might as well wait few more months to reach 1 year first then only upgrade.
