Congrats on the iPad2 !!! iPad 3 coming soon  wub.gif  wub.gif
I did the same also to redeem a iPod Touch at Harvey Norman ;-)

If only Parkson sells Apple products...Parkson RM50 voucher is available at lower point redemption (RM50 = 9300 TreatsPoints)
*
Wise men think alike tongue.gif Actually few months back wanted to redeem voucher at Harvey Norman to get the iPod Touch too but they no stock so got it at Machines and use MBB 2 AMEX to get 5X TP, now price drop mad.gif

For those wanting to get Apple or other electronic stuff, for Harvey Norman you only need 9700TP = RM50 and they have promo now, spend RM1K and above get to guarantee win RM20 minimum to RM1K. Click here to read how I only paid RM999 for Apple iPad2 at Harvey Norman.

iPad3, next Spring or Summer I guess.

The best so far was I redeem Metro Jaya RM50 x 3 vouchers early this year for 8000TP/voucher. My wife has yet to use them.

Maybankard 2 AMEX has the advantage of 5X TreatsPoints unlimited.
Amex acceptance is so-so.
*
YES. Equivalent to 2.5% Cash Rebate unlimited.

So powerful. You will see the benefit in a long run.

Acceptance is getting well-known.

MBB pushes out a lot of AMEX Cards, now the merchant also in a quite high demand due to customer's preference.

SenQ has a current offer for Citibank CC - Samsung Galaxy S2 at RM100 off. The list price for the phone is RM1,899. So I charged RM1,000 to the Citibank CC (equivalent 10% disc), used up 100,000 treat points for RM500 and paid the balance RM299 using Amex2 (another RM22 at 7.5%) card. Free gift included a Belkin bumper case and 1+2 years warranty. I think it was a good deal.

You can also opt to pay by 0% instalment if you wish but I was not up to it.

Agree, one can get SII cheaper with mobile phone dealers BUT they don't accept AMEX, haha. Don't know when kwokwah bought the SII, but price have dropped significantly since Samsung Note was launched. Anyway, all of you guys wanting to buy phones at SenQ or Courts, always check out the market price first at LYN Garage.

Lol, most funny thing is, when I go to maybank and sign up my investment account, they ask me if I wanted their 2 cards or not. Then I just say, ok la since they also mentioned "Pre-approved"

2 days later I call the CS and they say it was "Rejected".

I LOL and say kthxbye to the CS. laugh.gif

my basic is above 3k lol.
*
LOL. I have same experience last year with one oversea bank.
Say pre-approved gold. Then I say OK, and went through all the questions they asked.

After that, got the letter, rejected =.=

So I emailed the CS and complained. Then the person who called me, called me again and say sorry... say she never say it's preapproved.. she said preselected wor..

I also don't know she is cheating or not. Anyway, I got a better credit card now rclxm9.gif

This is an excellent thread for info on the Maybank 2 Cards. Thanks to Gen-X for starting it. I'm also thinking of this 2 Cards thing and have been doing some reading. A few questions:

1. Seems to me the best benefit is the 5x TP when using the Amex card. So of course the idea is to use the Amex as much as possible. Is this 5x TP applicable with any spending, incl petrol, utilities autopay, etc? In the blog it says:

QUOTE
The American Express Gold Credit Card which was launched after mid 2009 on the other hand doesn't give cash back directly, but instead it offers 5X Membership Reward Points for Petrol, Utility Bills, Groceries and at Bookshops and all other transactions get 2X points.

2. Next benefit is the 5% Weekend cash back when spend on Maybankard 2 American Express Card capped at RM50 per customer per month. Is this applicable with any purchase at any store? In Malaysia only or also includes overseas/internet transactions? This 5% weekend cash back is on top of the usual 5x TP right?

I have signed up some direct debits using Maybank cards before and I wish to terminate them and transfer to another bank CC. Is there a way I can check on M2U site the current active direct debit ones? I have given instructions to the merchants concerned but am afraid they may not carry it out.

In Malaysia as well as overseas and internet transactions. And yes, you'll still get the usual 5xTP on top of the 5% weekend cash rebate.
