guys, skype can be use without buying camera?
tv got built in mic or not? QUOTE(StupidGuyPlayComp @ Mar 4 2013, 02:04 PM) the new series should be soon, maybe Apr..............but be ready in high price, maybe 5099 like the initial price for ST50 looking at USA official announced price 1300 dollar, i expect p50st60 comming soon model will sell below 4k ringgit added feature is magic pen, quite nice QUOTE(anti-LAx2 @ Mar 4 2013, 02:54 PM) the main thing is UT50 model will give plenty of glass reflection in bright room (as seen from outlet) u can see ur reflection inside the tv when picture showing black however, if u can control light source or block window no big deal la while ST50 has anti reflection filter (similar to higher range GT50, VT50) can block light that shine from top only but white color cannot be strong as LCD or LED display UT50 has less setting for color reproduction and etc.. ST50 got This post has been edited by ktek: Mar 4 2013, 09:14 PM |

QUOTE(anti-LAx2 @ Mar 4 2013, 04:56 PM) Thanks for the reply bro. Some reviews that might help you.Does it matter when compared to a 42 HD Ready only set? still same upscaling? If its still the same, then getting the ST50 would be a no-brainer if budget permits i guess. ST50 http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/panasonic-t...01203191731.htm UT50 http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/panasonic-t...01209252218.htm Basically if lighting & internet connectivity are not probs, UT50 is also a good choice. You can't go wrong either way. QUOTE(ktek @ Mar 4 2013, 09:00 PM) guys, skype can be use without buying camera? Just wondering what is the major difference between the 50ST50 and 50ST60? I read the review and found mainly optional magic pen which I don't think I need.tv got built in mic or not? looking at USA official announced price 1300 dollar, i expect p50st60 comming soon model will sell below 4k ringgit added feature is magic pen, quite nice the main thing is UT50 model will give plenty of glass reflection in bright room (as seen from outlet) u can see ur reflection inside the tv when picture showing black however, if u can control light source or block window no big deal la while ST50 has anti reflection filter (similar to higher range GT50, VT50) can block light that shine from top only but white color cannot be strong as LCD or LED display UT50 has less setting for color reproduction and etc.. ST50 got If the price difference is 1k, then I can decide to take 50ST50 then..... |

QUOTE(Saruvat @ Mar 5 2013, 07:57 AM) Mate I hate to break it to you but USD 1300 = RM 4030. There's no chance it'll be cheaper here than in the US. AV products are normally overpriced locally. I doubt it's only ~4k. RM is normally USD x4. (Some products can be x5 or x6) I think final price is about 1300x4=~5k.This post has been edited by Skylinestar: Mar 5 2013, 07:57 PM |

Jusco 1U is having offer for both 42" ET5K & ET50K
Both priced at 2899, however ET50K gets rm250 voucher & wifi dongle. I prefer ET5K due to the passive 3D but ET50K seems like a better deal as it's more expensive than ET5K now same price and got voucher somemore. But need AEON card. |

i just bought the 50ST50K from TBM with installment plan for RM3200.
i plan to do a little calibration as i have the Spyder3TV. Does anyone has any experience in in calibrating this TV? How is the performance of this TV right out of the box before calibration? i have also read that it would be better that we have run in the tv for about 500 hours before calibration. Is this true? |

QUOTE(Fusion @ Mar 11 2013, 09:16 PM) i have just completed my 50ST50K calibration with the Spyder3TV and the result that i got is as below: Some say high contrast should be avoided for the first few hundred hours or so, to avoid IR and to break in the phosphors smoothly.Contrast = 88 Brightness = -15 Colour = 53 Tint = -3 Colour Balance = Warm do you guys think that the contrast is too high? Others say modern TVs don't need to be broken in and you can use high contrast right out of the box. So it's up to you. For my ST50 I plan to keep the contrast at 50 highest for the first few months. |

However, if the set is still new, might be better to avoid static logos and black bars till it beds in. Ur brigthness setting is not quite right, unless u r using PC level video and trying to clamp it down to ensure its showing video level settings. For normal BD viewing, its close to 0. Also, I don't recall needing to use tint as it has a CMS. Is this with True Cinema mode? TrueCinema mode has the most accurate setting to start with for gamma tracking. Did u calibrate white balance? |

Did u calibrate white balance? i started it off with using Normal for calibration because this TV does not have the option to calibrate Colour Balance once TrueCinema has been enabled. with this brightness setting, i am still able to see all the shades of grey and black in the grey scale chart but i cant really differentiate the last 2 shades of whites. i feel that there are a lot of things left to calibrate but the Spyder3 has too limited function. |

QUOTE(Fusion @ Mar 12 2013, 09:12 AM) i didnt calibrate the white balance as the SypderTV only calibrates contrast, brightness, colour, tint and colour temperature. TrueCinema has white balance controls. U need to go to advanced to calibrate 2 point white balance.i started it off with using Normal for calibration because this TV does not have the option to calibrate Colour Balance once TrueCinema has been enabled. with this brightness setting, i am still able to see all the shades of grey and black in the grey scale chart but i cant really differentiate the last 2 shades of whites. i feel that there are a lot of things left to calibrate but the Spyder3 has too limited function. Also, what were u using as a source when checking brightness? At -15 brightness u r crushing black for typical blu ray/hd viewing unless u r sending a RGB PC signal to the display. Download the AVS HD709 test disc from the web. Burn it in DVD and test it on a BD player. Check the brightness pattern. Unless u hv selected RGB PC as ur BD output, -15 will crush black. |
