TS, you've missed out a few restaurants which I've listed in the previous thread.

Umai-ya @ IOI Boulevard accepts AMEX.

Vive la Vida @ IOI Boulevard and Bibiwok @ Bdr Puteri Puchong do not accept AMEX.

Restaurant : Bumbu Desa @ KLCC does not except AMEX.

Annoys me coz sometimes they say their AMEX terminal is down whereas in actual fact they never accept AMEX.

Oh yes ... I can concur this.
I went to the sale recently and at their counters they posted acceptance of JCB, VISA and Mastercard. AMEX was not accepted when I tried to use the card.

Well, basically all 4 & 5 stars hotel accept AMEX. All the hotels above are the hotels i've personally used my AMEX in.

Redbox Gurney Plaza, Penang doesn't accept AMEX?

The one in the 1st Avenue accepts AMEX.

MBO Square One, Batu Pahat accepts AMEX too.

Because the staff may not know the machine accept or not...some only take your card and "try try" if canot then give back.

Btw i wonder does this thread really useful??
For me, if im buying something i would just 1st ask whether accept Amex or not if not then just give Visa..
Dont tell me u wanted to buy something then come to this thread to check the shop accept or not, and if no accept then u find another shop?

Well, both SS2 and OU are MEP outlets, not Maxis Centers. But the one in SS2 accepts AMEX.

Certain Kim Gary accepts CC such as Kim Gary 1st Avenue Penang with min amount of RM 30 (IIRC).

1. TGV Jusco Seremban 2
2. Perodua Service Center Balakong (min RM50)
3. The Challenger, Mines
4. Ace Hardware, Mines
5. Houz Depot, KL
6. BHP Kajang Jalan Semenyih (swipe inside, actually all card need to swipe inside)
7. Lim Tayar (or CKL) @ all outlets. refer - www.limtayar.com.my/html/our_outlets.html
8. Sin Siang Hin (Proton authorized service centres) @ all 5 KL outlet. refer top 5 @ www.sianghin.com/images/stories/Sianghin_website_design_pg_39.jpg

i believe sakae tepayaki sushi at autocity juru, penang

refuse to take amex as payment

they did hang up on their door amex welcome

but when i tried to make payment the cashier actually told me that they no longer accept payment from amex

anyone having the similar problem?

by the way sushi king at gurney do accept amex

So far every Shell outlet I go in Sarawak accepts AMEX. And I've been to Miri, Bintulu, Sibu, Sarikei, Kuching. Currently based in Bintulu.

I believe not every TM point accept AMEX. I'm referring to over the counter and not at the self-service payment kiosk.

I have been paying that using AMEX for months and always did it on Saturdays. Luckily, they open every Saturday.

For those who shop substantially at Daiso (the RM5 shop), I believe the new one at LG Jusco One Utama is ran by Jusco and thus uses the Jusco credit card terminal which accepts AMEX. I saw the Maybank terminal while paying but since I only bought 1 item felt awkward to swipe for it biggrin.gif

Do note that most if not all other Daiso AFAIK is cash-term only.

Checked and found this:

Celcom Ipoh - did direct debit with Amex. Celcom automatically offers 5% rebate for direct debit. So won't clash with Amex RM1000 monthly quota.

MAXIS IPOH - the payment kiosk DOESN'T accept Amex. only way to pay on weekend is by phone. (haven't tried it) Amex is available via direct debit though.

TGV ONLINE - DOESN"T accept online purchase with Amex.

Anyone knows if you can make payment to Prudential Insurance (in Ipoh) with Amex on weekends? Appreciate it if someone can share.

what i can confirmed is, all celcom kiosk (whole malaysia) dont accept amex.
besides, all celcom branch and blue cube counter at kl/slgr so far i went also dont accept amex:

klia, klcc, sungei wang plaza, bangsar, the mall, pekeliling (jln pahang), cheras tmn segar, kajang sg chua, kajang plaza metro ~

the best way to pay celcom with amex is do auto-debit, celcom will give u 5%.
and if celcom charged ur amex on weekend, u will get another extra 5% from maybank.

I found my first Petronas that accepts AMEX... Petronas Jalan Klang Lama (around Pearl International Hotel)
Payment must be made in exact amount. Full tank is allowed but if the line is down, need to pay Cash.

I had already mentioned this in American Express thread. Another Petronas station that accept Amex over the counter is the outlet located along Jalan Ampang, near Ampwalk.

err... for auto-billing, long time ago (before maybankard 2 amex come out) tm already accept amex smile.gif

but must use autopay form by amex ~

Added on October 17, 2011, 10:23 ampreviously (and till now) amex gold credit also get 5x MR for autopay

Telekom autopay via MBB2Amex got transacted yesterday, 16 October, a Sunday. Not just 5x points, should get 5% weekend rebate too. But I think depends on the Telekom billing date, of mine is 10th of every month.

You're right that we can't time the autopay, but what I meant was that my Telekom billing is on the 10th of every month, while my Telekom autopay normally transacted on 16, so whenever 16 falls on weekend, my MBB2Amex autopay will give me 5x points + 5% rebate, otherwise when 16 falls on weekday like Nov & Dec 2011, I will still get 5x points.

i think ALL TM point should accepted AMEX...
for mine, shah alam & damansara utama branch no issues to accept AMEX now...

hence i registered auto pay with AMEX for all of my TM billings...
so should assume that TM HQ accepted for AMEX too...

i prefer, if u guys want to post place(s) that not accepting amex, just post the shop/merchant name that already known accepting amex or got amex sticker but cant accept amex.

for example, i went to guardian tmn connaught, but they dont accept amex (but i went to guardian maju junction no prob).

I tried DBKL HQ at Jalan Raja Laut and its branch in Kepong. Both accept Amex, but only it is only limited to DBKL related payments like traffic summons (from DKBL) and assessment.

It is not applicable to amex charge card because they are using MR, not TP.. mbb2 is amex credit card, not charge card, charge card do not have credit limit.. so u can redeem Ur TP..

Based on experience, you should look for AMEX sign first. Then, most of the Shell stations do accept AMEX.

u can redeem online or go to maybankard center pudu / 1u.

the tp is combines from both mbk2 cards and ur savings acc too (if, u did onl payment before, rm3 = 1tp).

for online redemption, just enter your visa/master number.
system will auto deduct the tp including amex tp.

Generally I have no problem using Amex at Shell petrol stations. But in the North-South Expressway, at the south-bound Shell Tapah (KM333), my MBB2Amex has failed for 2 different trips, whereby I tried 3 times each trip. Failed at the pump though, didn't go to counter.

If you spend above RM 10 with your Amex plat at Coffee bean you are entitled for free home brew coffee or home brew tea. Their tea is super good I gotta say.

Not true.

At GSC, please ensure that the cashier swipes on UOB terminal (not EON).

For ESSO Bukit Jambul, perhaps the terminal down. I swiped quite number of times for the past few months (even last month).

Tried to swipe AMEX at SEC Sungai Dua but the cashier 3% will be imposed.

Maxis Kiosk Seremban dun accept Amex, then i went to pump petrol at Esso @ Jln Senawang heading towards Giant, there also dun accept Amex, i tot my Amex card hav problems. Later i passby Paroi Stadium, infront there is a Shell, ahha, my Amex was accepted there. Take not Sban users.

Vincci Jusco Seremban 2 accepts AmEx. I believe all Vincci outlets accept AmEx anyway. smile.gif

Amex is accepted in Esso Pesiaran Senawang headings towards the Toll (NSE) but the Esso Pesiaran Senawang heading towards to LEKAS Expressway DO NOT accept Amex.

Basically these 2 Esso's are facing each other one on the way to NSE and the other on the way to LEKAS

Its ok now, AMEX need to use 4 digit in front of card instead of usual 3 digit at the back of card.

Previously I use the Amex Charge card for autopay for 5x MR.

Now already change to MBB-2-Amex. Confirm 5x TP.

99% of Petronas don't accept AMEX.
I found 2 Petronas stations : Petronas Old Kland Road & Petronas SPRINT Highway, which accepts AMEX at the counter (manual swipe)

I also suspect that. I'm going to book another room by tomorrow (Thursday) and see when it will be posted.
If it happens to post on Friday or Monday, then possibly they are not going to post any transaction by weekend.
Anyway, I'm booking through Agoda.com, not Agoda.com.my. Any difference between this 2 website ?

hi thread mods, u can add SSM HQ (KL Sentral) as one of the govt agencies that accepts MBB AMEX cards. used mine on 1 Dec to pay ROB fees. they dont indicate that very clearly at their premises though. but stroke of luck that i saw them in time.

only have 2 stickers that display that there - one at their info counter where u get the ROB/ROC forms and another one at the payment/registration processing counter on the far left (there are 3 payment/registration processing counters there, cant remember which no. is the one that displays the AMEX sticker tho).

the guy at the counter there was sorta reluctant to accept payment from my AMEX tho, kept asking for cash until i insisted i didnt carry enough cash that time and i only had my AMEX with me. no choice la, he had to accept. just too bad SSM HQ doesnt open on Saturdays, or else can get a further 5% rebate

F Concept Dining by Buffalo Kitchens, Bangsar accepts AmEx. I was there yesterday for late lunch and to my delight I was told it accepts AmEx but the terminal was down when they were trying on my card...

So, I had to change to VISA. My 5xTP and 5% rebate. cry.gif

Nvm, can get one. 5X TP on petrol and groceries....but not as good as AMEX which has 5% cash back. However, is more place accept though. So i use MU VISA as my backup...brows.gif

Change Jusco voucher at MBB 1U centre, 20k TP = RM100

Yes you can buy Hotlink at Tesco using AMEX at the counter, they will give you the epay slip where you reload manually with the instructions.

I remembered somebody mentioned that the HQ nearby Central Market - Pejabat Pos Besar accepts CC but not sure about AMEX.

usually i will timed it, but unfortunately this week cannot since me and my gf is on a week long leave and we need to use up vouchers that we bought from those deal site before expiry at several places.

it's a bit absurd if we go again on weekends just for the sake of rebate. the petrol/parking used for sure will exceed it. somemore those item are like those that dump out and sell. dun think it will still be there if we go there again on weekends.

can't do much on that sad.gif

yea, just call the maybank cs, the number printed at the back of the card, you can choose to allow it for 1 day or 1 weeks, for paypal transaction via AMEX..just done it not too long ago..

Don't forget AMEX charges Forex rates much higher than other VISA/MasterCard...

Thanks, you are right. Need to call them before making any transaction. A bit troublesome though, but good for security purposes.

Currently Maxis Taman Segar unable to accept AMEX card payment on their kiosk machine.

I notice that they had change the machine to some sort of CIMB MAXIS machine.

I had tried 3 of it and all of it also unable to accept my AMEX cc..

Please update tis also. TQ.

last time i checked, it can be done at maxis the gardens ...u need to try to swipe manually kat the counter

MPPP Pisa accepts AMEX I think since AMEX logo is displayed at the cashier counter.

However, CC is only accepted for assessment payment not for summons. Cannot try my AMEX since I was paying for summons.

Those who is using Maybankard 2 Card, your are advice to called during SATURDAY and SUNDAY to get additional 5% CASHBACK.

I plan to used this service for this month bill.

The Customer service also using e-pay to generate the reload number.
But the person on duty mention Tesco no longer accept AMEX for reload prepaid hand-phone. Only visa, master.

My reload with Tesco Melaka was on 18-Dec, still ok. Hope it is only for that branch. Alternatively, you can buy reload coupon at Giant too.

They reluctant to accept Amex..

I've used my AMEX at Ngiukee Pacific (Centre Point) but that was quite sometime ago. Last time i also saw AMEX sticker at Milimewa. Well, besides Tong Hing, i'm very sure that all Giant outlets in KK also accept AMEX.

guardian 1Borneo and Wawasan plaza also accepts Amex but not the city mall and karamunsing branch.

I asked one of the guys if they accept AmEx, immediately he answered yes. Then, I was hesitating as if I were to use my CIMB DA then I only need to pay my bill in March whereas AmEx will be next month. tongue.gif

Then, he asked me to use AmEx and he will give me a voucher. I agreed. It turned out to be a complimentary dessert voucher. laugh.gif

Better than nothing anyway. tongue.gif

Most probably the terminal is faulty... you should rub the chip and retry

Which branch? I swiped at Queensbay branch before. No problem. They displayed AMEX logo too and their terminal is from Maybank.

I have a feeling that majority of the self service kiosk doesn't accept AMEX.

I tried once at TM point Georgetown but failed. Another one at Bayan Baru with no AMEX logo displayed (didn't actually try it yet).

Most likely that over the counter will accept AMEX for majority of the TM points.
