i think its your monitor but any lens wide open will kill the contrast anyway.

close up filters are just a single piece glass which will cause distortion on corners of the glass, which = softness. if u get adapter type like raynox, which has 3 element(lens) inside, which reduce distortion and improve sharpness/IQ of the optics.

for the warranty, depend on the shop, sony outlet usual own by "people" no related to sony cooperation (not manage by sony sdn bhd, except sonystyle), some sony outlet, boss, are good enough, to provide the service (helping you to send to service center) and u able to collect back from there. but you can always send it back to where you brought the camera, the shop/outlet has the responsibility to help you send to service center.

you need to provide, receipt, and fill the warranty card base on the receipt date (good luck with your unfilled warranty card).

if your service Body, just body(with body cap, but remove card/batt) if you send in Lens, that brought bundle with body, the lens serial number requires the body serial number to check, so send in both. other then that, individual unit are accepted.
