Sigma 17-70 is quite a good lens. Even Ed said something good bout this lens. Just that its not constant aperture but sharpness wise, perhaps even better than the Tamron, I supposed? Hard 2 find a Sigma 17-70 owner, at least in my circle of community.

The tamron has an awesome bokeh at f2,8 and sharpness at f4 that is quite equivalent to the Carl Zeiss 16-80/16-105. But of course, CZ has overall better sharpness and etc..
Then settle your bank loan. No need spend for something that you can't pay.

Go for tamron. The sigma's aperture range is laughable. The f2.8 only lasts until about 20mm only.

any comments between the tammy 1750 F2.8 and the sigma 17-70 F2.8-4?

My sigma 17-70 2.8-4 's OS is no longer working..

whenever i turn OS on, the lens makes noise inside and the image in the view finder goes up down left right every 2-3 sec..

It doesn't matter if SSS is turned on or off. The view in the OVF shows the OS is running wonky since the camera doesn't communicate with the lens telling it that the SSS is on and the OS should be in turned off. Both will run simultaneously.

yup.. i tried all the shop in Penang road, Komtar, perangin, queensbay and gurney plaza.
so far the best price is at perangin mall " Lam loong". i think i notice is not many shop are selling sony n if they sell only some of them got ready stock...  and 1 more thing i also notice... when i go to the shop that not selling sony and ask about sony gear..they will sure poison u like hell..and under estimate sony. Not to say i'm good but i managed to counter attack them back and some sellers seem try to cheat me andone of them is sony centre it self in gurney plaza.
the sales person is just teenager and i ask him about a580 body. 1st he told me that they are out of stock but later after chatting with his sales friend he then came to me and quote me RM3000 for a BODY. he said this is the last unit and this is the best price already... ayoo... i ask him twice, are you sure and he say yes!.. i asked him to double check 
but he said "olledy check la boss"... sony website retail price body is rm2699 and kit rm3099... street price is lower than that... i don't want to argue and just walk away...maybe the commission i think?...
