Cool setting is around 5500k. The universally accepted temperature is 6500k. A blueish white is more fatiguing to they eyes than warmer white.

I prefer to use cool white light for my kitchen and backyard while warm white light especially for bedroom and living/dining hall. There is a product that produces LED light which I've installed just slightly away and behind the LCD monitor. The verdict of its performance and durability, is still pending because I've just been using it since a few days ago but cost me a whooping RM70 but I just can't resist to give it a try. It's called OSRAM Parathom Par16 50 adv ( low energy consumption, long-lasting duration and also, not HOT to the touch of my hands at all.) QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 19 2011, 02:35 PM) I finally got the LG IPS236V-PN but haven't tried it out because the seller sealed it in a box. I wanted to get the Dell's U2312HM but this LG was sold to me at RM 450 for a month old usage. 3 years warranty. The price was difficult to resist. Can't wait to try out tonight. So how is the LG IPS. Is it that good!

Maybe later on i will search abt on hw to tweak with the rgb and etc Cold color should be at 9500K, 5500K is much warmer, correct me cause I been set on many monitors, even on the Adobe Gamma software 5500K definitely warmer than 6500K, 3000K is almost pure yellow already I think. To adjust normal CCFL to match WLED cold color, tune brightness to max and tune down the contrast till almost matching level, that's how I set an old LCD monitor Philips 170S trying to match my laptop's WLED cold color, still can't match properly, might be due to worn out CCFL backlight.

Has anybody actually tried to buy the Dell U2312HM from the small & medium businesses section, rather than the home & home office section? Since for some reason it's cheaper. Small & Med businesses: http://configure.ap.dell.com/dellstore/con...oc=T14U2312HMMYHome & Home office: http://configure.ap.dell.com/dellstore/con...oc=T14U2312HMMYI'm just really scared that if I buy from the former link, they will charge me with fraud or something
