Most of the people here are Dell punya kaki la so be prepared to be recommended at least with it as a preferred choice.

Yours truly do have in possession of a single flawless Dell UltraSharp U3011 30"W Monitor with PremierColour which I reckon is the 3rd most crucial component in my rig after the processor and graphic card however it's the most expensive in terms of monetary value.

There is a Dell IN1930 18.5"W HD Monitor with LED (really suitable for notebook/laptop and certainly, doesn't mean it can't be paired with a desktop rig if on a tight budget) which would cost RM339 and do take the trouble to call up the marketing representative online and then ask for another 3% to 5% discount by just doing some uber bargain negotiation so be prepared to spend about 10 minutes or perhaps more, on the phone line.

+1, this response does answer Confession query and in addition, a matte widescreen LCD display would serve to be the better purchase so buy wisely so I hope (am not sure) that either one of those brands has it and can fit into your budget.

Glossy finish display screens are more susceptible to glare, reflecting light from windows and light bulbs which may possibly cause eye discomfort or strain quicker as compared to matte finish products while in a powered off state, fingerprints and smudges are more readily noticeable however there are certainly a few advantages to be had in using it as well.

I prefer to use cool white light for my kitchen and backyard while warm white light especially for bedroom and living/dining hall. There is a product that produces LED light which I've installed just slightly away and behind the LCD monitor. The verdict of its performance and durability, is still pending because I've just been using it since a few days ago but cost me a whooping RM70 but I just can't resist to give it a try. It's called OSRAM Parathom Par16 50 adv (low energy consumption, long-lasting duration and also, not HOT to the touch of my hands at all.)
