Damn... should have waited for this instead rushing for the U2412M @ RM899. Lesson learnt the hard way, always wait for price drop before purchasing when it is near Hari Raya CLOSED

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Aug 30 2011, 02:19 PM) Congrats. Mine was at 37 to get about 120cd/m2 brightness.. too bright my eyes also pain >_<I have to dim down the brightness to 40% cos my eyes are not used to its Ultrabright! Added on August 30, 2011, 2:46 pm Awesome find. Thanks. QUOTE(everling @ Aug 30 2011, 04:10 PM) Honestly, I think the U2412M is a better deal than the U2711. It is a lot cheaper to buy more of the monitors if you want to do 3x1 display gaming. Three of them would only cost you RM2,247 (3 x RM749), which is only a little more expensive than the RM1,999 or cheaper than its regular price. Also, the U2412M, according to that TFT Central review is better for gaming than the U2711. Don't exactly game much nowadays... more for watching movie, bigger is better since I can sit on my bed , bout 2 meter away from my monitor.. not to mention I like the extra working space when working on photoshop Oh well, 2412 is nice... but next time shall go for bigger ones |

QUOTE(reno88 @ Aug 30 2011, 07:25 PM) HI , may i know how to determine current my monitor are showing Full HD, Make sure you are running on native resolution, and if you're talking about youtube make sure you stream 1080p and use full screen.is that check on screen resolution ? its show 1280x1080 .. and when i watch youtube 1080p and 720p , seem like no difference ... QUOTE(DarkNite @ Aug 31 2011, 08:42 AM) Yup, cos price difference is RM35 only. And if wait a little, sure have discount and further coupon discount! Good stuffs goes to those that waits for Dell =/Dell doesn't reward early bird. |

QUOTE(raptor_cZn @ Sep 3 2011, 07:01 PM) But the latter's using TN panel no? Maybe the panel type has certain restrictions on how slim it can be. Just a thought. Panel type restricts the thickness? Hmm, but the iPad which is a TN also can be quite thin ma. Don't think that is the reason.QUOTE(BeastX @ Sep 3 2011, 07:29 PM) I presume... being thick that it's not edge lit and you can have localised dimming... It (U2412M) very light though and saves energy. May get 2 more for 6 multi-monitors... This one sounds logical. This could be it, but so far didn't noticed the dimming yet or maybe need to run in certain mode. My old samsung LCD if set to dynamic contrast it will dim according to what is displayed, but is whole screen dim thought not localized. |

There's usually a pre cal to set for color temp, and brightness before running right? As in for example D65 (6500K) and 120cd/m2 for white target.

QUOTE(Wii_hunter @ Sep 10 2011, 02:25 AM) whatever thats black. i did a black fill-in paint and i can see it alright. will check if its there in stand by but regardless im going to see if i can get it replaced. its definitely noticeable. I also see a bright pixel but im not worried about that since its not noticeable much. Well, its time to claim warranty in this case. Its abnormal if you're seeing it on black screen only. What about other colors? Do you see the blue-ish patch as well? |

Not sure why most manufacturer opt for fancy but useless stand Totally agree with the stand, am running Dell U2412M with my old Samsung 2233SW, the old Samsung cannot adjust height at all |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Sep 16 2011, 08:32 PM) Funny thing happened when I was trying out some games on my U2311H, I noticed that I'm getting 30fps@1080p@high settings on Unreal Tournament 3 whereas I'm only getting around 20fps on my laptop 15.6" using the same settings No... the only thing affecting is how many pixels your GC has to display. For 720p, I'm getting like 40fps+ on my U2311H whereas my laptop get about 30fps+ So, Pixel per Inch(PPI) affects gaming performance? You can use a 21.5" 1920x1080 and a 24" 1920x1080, the performance is exactly the same. |
