Man I love dell's warranty. I called them yesterday about my monitor, got the new just now. Everything on the new monitor looks ok. Very happy right now.
Added on September 13, 2011, 12:01 pmaahh great. I guess I spoke too soon. Ok so on a white screen, I can see some bands moving in a wave-like movement. Its not obvious but i can notice it if i find it. Its like i can see the refresh cycle or something like that. Is that normal? If I choose to ignore it, does it have a bad effect on my monitor? QUOTE(Jet23sky @ Sep 13 2011, 10:22 AM) I'm wondering, right now my resolution is 1920 x1080, i bought another 2 which are 1920x1200, and do eyefinity. So it will make is 3 x 1920 x1080. I'm wondering hows the screen look like for 1920x1080 to be place on 1920x1200 LED? I was using a U2410 and a U2311H for a while and the unusable black bars on the U2410 is rather big. I eventually got used to it as the weeks passed by, but replacing the U2311H for a U2412M was still a welcomed change.QUOTE(Wii_hunter @ Sep 13 2011, 11:39 AM) aahh great. I guess I spoke too soon. I just wondering how does dell warranty work?
You call them, they will send a technician come over and replace the monitor for you or they will use courier to send to you? btw, I decided to place my order on U2312 I don't it worth to pay extra for only one inch and 16:10 resolution |

You call them and they will send a courier to your house. Very simple. Supposed to put the old monitor into the new monitor box and return that box to them. But i gave them my box instead.

FYI, my monitor also got this so-called refresh from my laptop through VGA cables, and only happens on certain range of colors so it's fine, it's just the analogue signal problem, some older laptop has it worst. You can however try to clean the port of the VGA cable or at the laptop, it might improve slightly but no guarantee. There's electronic contacts cleaner, or you can use air-compressed can. |

I faced the same problem with my Dell S2409W plugged on VGA port of 8600M GT powered Dell Inspiron lappie. After that i changed to Samsung 2333SW+ on the same lappie, no more flickering. |

Elo... One more question.
I am building a new rig with i5 2500k and bla bla bla. should I get LED or LCD or doesn't really matter? If 24"... which one best performance I should get? If 27"... which one best performance I should get? Er... price wise, I am ok to fork 1k for a 27" but not 2-3k for the Dell one though. He! He!... Why 24 or 27? Coz sometimes, since 27" might be still new... tech has not catch up yet and bla bla... So pls... advise pls. I'll use the PC for gaming, watching movie, photoshop. |

Very likely to be the cable or a noisy power adaptor for your laptop.I had a similar problem with a laptop and another monitor, an old Dell G2410 (a crappy RM800~ LED display no longer available). I borrowed my VGA cable from my U2410 to replace the G2410's VGA cable and the problem went away. Switching back to the G2410 cable and I get the problem back. And then later, I had to replace the power adaptor for another reason. By chance, I tested back with the G2410 VGA cable and I didn't had the problem any more. I hope that helps you. QUOTE(-kytz- @ Sep 13 2011, 06:52 PM) For 24" I suggest the Dell IPS U2412HM The P2770H is a crappy product that should be boycott for normal users, UNLESS you have a vision problem and would prefer oversized fonts for easier reading. It is after all 1920x1080 on 27", compared to 1920x1200 on a 24" U2412M. I would recommend the P2770H for my grandmother, but not for my friends. For 27" I suggest the Samsung P2770H The Dell has an IPS screen which will tar pao the P2770H(TN panel) but loses out on the extra 4" size This post has been edited by everling: Sep 13 2011, 07:12 PM |
