The main concern I was talking about is now about using AC DC adapter.
It was about when the thing blows up, it is very hard to find replacement power source.
Unlike normal LCD we can straight away go to kitchen and curi our mom's cooking pot that using the exactly the same power cord as LCD.
If for S2330X user, the adapter can be found from electrical shop, just very very hard to find the exact same power same head adapter, and quality wise also very hard to control.
*
What karhoe referring to is the power adapter (transformer down) in the monitor, if that blows, it'll same goes with the external power adapter, worst it's even harder to DIY a fix (if not under warranty).
With external power adapter blow out, you can find those adapter such as laptop power adapter, set correct voltage or slightly close and you're good to go, of course if the adapter plug does not fit, you can always cut off the original one and fit it to the new adapter. Voltage positive and negative rail can be easily determine by voltage tester.
Currently they design in such a way (external power adapter) that the monitor can be slimmer, and at the same time the heat from the power adapter won't affect the electrical components inside the monitor where slim design concern.

What I was trying to emphasised was the availability of the replacement power source.
Don't get me wrong, S2330MX is a good LCD, I did mention before.
Just the cons would be the replacement power source only, that's about it.

Power cord? They're the same for all the PC's components, take a look at this...

http://hothardware.com/image_popup.aspx?im...icleid=1721&t=a

The adapter has standard power cord coming in, then the adapter cord right to the monitor, if the first power cord fried, well... change another one from your spare "cooking pot" or your PC's extras.
This same goes for almost every PC components out there right now, it makes life easier.
Note that the picture is taken from US/EU country type of cord, Asia has the standard 3-pin as-you-know power cord for PC.
All in all the conclusion is, it's the same no matter what the design is, be the adapter inside or outside the monitor.

Or... did I misunderstand what you referring to again? doh.gif

Get a cheap 32" 1080p TV instead? It solve all your problems, bigger screen and cheaper solution. Can be found at any shops that sells LCD TV right now, this you need to go to see for yourself.
Those 27" Dell Ultrasharp is not for normal consumer neither gamer with small budget, it's not aim for gaming market anyway, its purpose is mainly design and colour accuracy.

But if you want to get monitor following shikimori's list, then Samsung S27A950D

i guess he mean "the other head" of adapter which is small size 2.2mm-2.5mm after the DC conversion
sometimes cannot get exact fit replacement head yo

internal adapter is direct solder, less chance of bad contact
cooking pot is call IEC power cord biggrin.gif

Hi all, I want to buy a 24 inch monitor with resolution of 1920x1080 so that when I watch HD movies its in native resolution.

Should I buy samsung 24 inch LED costing around 700 or should I get dell u2312hm rm 630?

Does the one inch a big different?

U2410 wins when come to office work and surfing.
You can clearly see that the words on screen is very very crisp, I think is the resolution problem.
The AW2310 shines when it comes to gaming.
120Mhz is indeed very nice for FPS, and the present setting from the LCD itself helps a lot too for in game colours.
Other than Alienware LCD, present setting on other Dell LCD doesn't seems helps a lot with the colours and stuffs.

Hey bro, are you able to set 120hz for most of the game? in 1080p tho.

I've tried MW3, that's the game I have now.
And yes my is running at 120Hz with 1920x1080.
I'm only using DVI cable.
But make sure it is dual link so that it can support 120Hz.

I'd recommend the U2412HM, but its RM899 at the moment. However in prior sales, its price have dropped to below RM800.

For Dell, if you wanted an UltraSharp 24" with 1920x1080, currently not available.
As an alternative, either you can get:
- P2412H | RM689 | TN, no HDMI port, buy only if you need orientation switching, and extra USB port.
- ST2420L | RM579 | TN, has all VGA, DVI & HDMI port, a good budget LCD.
- U2312HM | RM629 | IPS, no HDMI port, has Display Port, people's champion LCD, but its 23".

Yes U2412HM is 1920x1080, but it is yet to be released. (not sure)
Over Dell.com.my, tagged at RM899, is U2412M, which is a 1920x1200.

Yes, agree.... and with our normal vision and illusion:
--> 23" (16:10) will look bigger than 24" (16:9)
--> 24" (16:10) will look big different (much more bigger) than 23" (16:9)
