Hey guys,
I've just received 2 monitors from Dell. The U2412M and U2312HM. Currently The U2412M is number 2 but set as my main display while the system detected the U2312HM as monitor number 1, i had it demoted to secondary monitor. The U2412M is currently in Landscape mode @ 1920 X 1200. The U2312HM is currently in Portrait mode @ 1920 X 1080. Mode: Extended display Drivers are installed for both monitors. My questions: 1) On windows desktop, If i were to use my mouse to move to the next screen, perhaps towards the top of the 24", it would seem as if there is an "invincible" wall that is blocking my cursor from moving to the next monitor. I have to move it lower to get it to go to the next screen. On the 23", Its the same, but since the monitor is in portrait mode, the "invincible" wall seems to be longer. How do i eliminate this? Or is this a limitation? (I tried setting both monitors @ 1920 x 1080 but its still the same. 2) When I start a game, and the game is running full screen on the 24" monitor, my cursor cannot access the 23" monitor. Is there a way for me to be able to use the 23" while a game is running full screen on the 24"? It'll be easier to search for walk through / read stuff / chat (Steam) while the 24" is occupied. Thats all for now. |

QUOTE(kembar4 @ Dec 9 2011, 02:42 PM) Hey guys, 1 - Right click on desktiop --> Screen Resolution. See the monitor that is shown? You can drag them so that the placement will be the same as the physical monitor, thus eliminating the invisible wall issueI've just received 2 monitors from Dell. The U2412M and U2312HM. But so far this is much better than before. Thank you! |

My first impression for both the U2412M and U2312HM.
First: The packaging irritated me. Slightly easy to take out, but I couldn't figure out how to put the polystyrene casing back into the box. So the boxes ended up in 1 cupboard and the polystyrene casing ended up in another. Setting up was quite easy. Plug the USB cable, the DVI cable and the PowerPlug. The Monitor Holder slided in with easy and is quite sturdy. Make sure to install the driver from the monitor provided in the Disc. So far everything seems fine. Will add more if you guys request for it. |

FOr U2412M for PS3, you'll need to get HDMI-DVI either the dongle or the whole cable. I'd recommend you getting the whole cable thou. |

Did you guys switch to different color preset when doing different type of work? E.g. switching to Standard color preset when doing document stuff and Movie color preset when watching movie? I feel that the white color in Standard preset mode doesn't really looks that white compared to the white color in my MBP, however the white color in Movie preset mode seemed 'white enough' but other colors like green and red appears to be tinted.
