hi huys, i like to ask is 6ms on Dell U2410 fast enough for gaming ?
i m tired of colour shift on my current tn panel monitor so i think to get an ips panel, but i don't want to compromise gaming experience.
i like to know before made decision.
*

U2410 is all good for games except the heat produced & power consumption
graphic scaling is "acceptable" if you planning to play low resolution PS1 /PS2 games

QUOTE(MBL @ Nov 12 2011, 06:43 PM)
BTW, my monitor cannot detect when I try to connect USB mouse through USB port at back side monitor. Why yea?
*

probably weak display card which happened to my P4 computer (VIA integrated chipset)
did u plug in a square USB cable from pc to monitor? need that to make da usb hub work

*

Just wanted to ask ,
U2410 vs LCD TV like panasonic 32/42 inch
Watching tv , which one produce nice color accurate ?
[asnapback]46679369[/snpback]

tv & movie standard is 16-235 color gradient
computer use 0-255 color gradient
there is some choice about pc /video input inside 2410 menu, never tested them.

if it dont support means need to goes thru a computer to process it 'accurately' then baru output thru vga /dvi /hdmi
btw, even 42" is too small for kicks in movie. let alone 24" screen

Hi guys, I have some problem with my monitor color here, wonder if anyone can help me out.
Any idea what could be the problem here?
*

drop contrast (cause yellow-ness)
boost brightness(very high), boost blue
adjust green and red level from default accordingly

You will know colors as they are supposed to look like.
*

ahaha i dont like when ppl use that sentence, macam poor advertisement only

tv never meant to compete with computer display.
16-235 gradient for tv specs is already a big different, which im not sure >over 10k will get 0-255 pc specs or none at all

mind u many tv in local market are made from ips panel. look at mainstream 32"-50" LCD tv, can u tell how many is not IPS?
perhaps only samsung, sharp those invest in VA line. jvc, toshiba, sony mix panel for lo-hi range.
LG-philips is largest ips panel supplier of Asia, together with panasonic, hitachi, mitsubishi, etc those japan factory.
not gurantee 100% ips for those brand (region & marketing) but in higher chance they are. use ur finger to test

50ms =3frame for 60hz display, is this the way u calculate it?
not true some lcd support 75hz and above

*ps i have a 2410 too, great choice bro icon_rolleyes.gif

*

i guess he mean "the other head" of adapter which is small size 2.2mm-2.5mm after the DC conversion
sometimes cannot get exact fit replacement head yo

internal adapter is direct solder, less chance of bad contact
cooking pot is call IEC power cord biggrin.gif

hmm but I dont really need 3D, any ps3 gamers here? 27" good for ps3 gaming? smile.gif
*

no, 27" too small
even 42" i sit in front also feel very small

QUOTE(sam240 @ Dec 14 2011, 10:12 AM)
Yes, agree.... and with our normal vision and illusion:
--> 23" (16:10) will look bigger than 24" (16:9)
--> 24" (16:10) will look big different (much more bigger) than 23" (16:9)
*

the key is screen height

Price is 899 vs 1699, that is a BIG price differences..
*

u2410 use h-ips, true 16million color
it came with calibration cert which is unique to each serial number
also got touch panel button & hdmi port which make u2412 cry

Found this interesting site that test the type of monitors you have :-
http://www.mediachance.com/pbrush/monitor.html
*

pretty good one, but i prefer finger test tongue.gif
much faster to differentiate VA and IPS panel without moving around screen like a weirdo
TN u just sit down on da floor and view up the screen, all black-out

Dell U2410 vs Dell U2412M
------------------------------
*

honestly if u got 2k budget, get bigger screen lo
2410 is not great when u are looking at 10pt font size
and the anti glare coating got very bad crystalizing effect

local view sonic got bring in 26" screen, priced about 2000.
same IPS panel as very expensive NEC 2690wuxi professional color monitor, just the menu settings & factory calibration not as great as the professional one.

got nice kaki ayam as well biggrin.gif

according to what you say, 2k budget, get bigger screen, you can use that RM2k to get 40inch TV.
Btw, U2410 has very bad crystalizing effect? do you actually own one?
*

at least it is proper computer monitor rather than tv.
there is several difference between tv and monitor so...

yes, u2410 throw to my dad use liao.
he dont like it too, so we hang wall as cctv display
haha wide view angle is so good

Hi, currently is there any TV that can be used as monitor (surf net, gaming, watching movie) with similar output quality as those IPS panel monitor (eg. Dell ) ?
This is because the current monitor trend maximum size is around 27" (if not mistaken), i am looking for any size ranged 30" - 40"
May i know color contrast, clear text would be very much different ?
3D is not required. 1080p is a must
*

if u ever know, most lcd tv selling outside are IPS
just use ur hand to press the screen and sit down on floor to see view angle changes
hard panel, no ripple =IPS (LG pana philips etc.. major brands)
soft panel, got ripple =PVA (samsung sony cheap priced toshiba etc..)
dell IPS range come from LG

u have to know about TV use 16-235 gradient while computer use 0-255, so u are losing accuracy with TV
dell have 30" model ultrasharp 3007, 3008 & 3011(latest) , call in to get best price

they run 1600x1200 resolution
