Any idea why the U2412M (LED backlit) is so much cheaper than the older U2410 ?

Price is 899 vs 1699, that is a BIG price differences..

E-IPS vs S-IPS

U2410 is still much better in terms of colour reproduction.

Correction : touch panel buttons & VGA DVI HDMI DP Composite ports which make U2412 vomit.

Viewnet store on the 3rd floor is showing the Samsung S23A950D. IMO that is the only real 120Hz shown in lowyat. All the other 3D monitors are not real 120Hz and you will get none of the benefit.

IIRC, only 3 real 120Hz monitors are sold in Malaysia officially. the S23A950D, S27A950D and the Alienware OptX™ AW2310

If I were you I would have upgraded to 27' or 30'. You would've noticed a bigger difference in terms of screen estate that way. The extra 200px vertical space isn't really that noticeable if you upgrade from 23' 1080p.

pretty good one, but i prefer finger test tongue.gif
much faster to differentiate VA and IPS panel without moving around screen like a weirdo
TN u just sit down on da floor and view up the screen, all black-out

Nah, 3D is overrated. Unless you want a 3D monitor that can do Real 120Hz (Samsung 950D series or alienware optxtm aw2310) I suggest to ignore 3D monitor altogether as you can get better monitor for that price from Dell. Anything that is not using Dual Link DVI/Display Port is not a real 120Hz monitor (HDMI 1.4 don't have enough bandwith) and basically you are wasting money on an overpriced 60Hz monitor. Anyways since your budget is RM1.2k, I'd say the Alienware monitor should fit in your budget
