See if you are qualified for a visa first.

http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/Find-a-visa.aspx

After getting a visa, then you can start looking at websites like seek.com.au

Can PR holders apply for Government jobs? I read somewhere that only citizens can apply for security clearance. Even jobs in companies with government contracts need security clearance. If this is the case, PR holders cannot work for government or government related jobs?

PR can work for state and local govt, only most federal govt job requires citizenship...

If you are below 31, you can consider working holiday visa (validity 6mth-1year). If you are skilled professional or trades person (your skill is in the SOL list), you can look at 189 or 190 visa. Your best resource would be : http://www.immi.gov.au/Work/Pages/Work.aspx

Also can go to the Australia immigration FB page to look see. https://www.facebook.com/DIBPAustralia?flyingspaghettimonster=br_tf

just wondering, is it difficult to find employment on a temp visa alone..
bit worried of just popping there out of the blue without having any local experience or familiarity

Pharmacists aren't on the SOL list that entitles you to a Skilled Grad visa or PR.

Plus with your level of English, nobody would hire you.

Not really. Unless you trained somewhere spectacularly good.

This stems from the old MODL whereby pastry chefs could apply for PR after studying for a course here in Australia, so every other Indian became a pastry chef to get PR.

Sadly that's not true at all. I'm not suggesting this individual will be hired despite his/her English language skills, but I am saying that English doesn't seem to matter as much as it should.

I think it might have to do with the talent pool available. If the majority of a talent pool share a background which includes poor English skills, it's not surprising that in the workforce you encounter a lot of people with bad English.

It is not that the section of talent that speaks and writes English well is lacking. So I'm not even sure why this happens.

I more looking at permanent working position there.

I checked the subclase 190, it said you have to submit EOI before your can get invitation to apply visa.

so this is my plan:
1) Applied for IELTS and get good score (this give extra marks in EOI)
2) File in EOI
3) Wait for invitation to apply visa.
4) Apply job there

is the above is correct steps?

Do you guys recommend/ have experience using agent for the visa or employment there?

TIA for your sharing notworthy.gif

Yes, on the right track. If possible, DIY. If no time then only agents (blood sucking fees)
If you're uni graduate, you should DIY. Unless you're workaholic like me work till midnite got no choice apply thru agents.

U need that extra 5 points from state sponsor to get 60 points? If not, why not go for 189? After your Ielts, you need to have your skill assessment and receive the outcome before lodging the EOI. I don’t recommend agent as agent fee costs about RM 10k on top of the visa fees. With abit of research, u DIY… u can save RM 10k smile.gif
