The story begins like such, it was medical line in short..was in demand, thus ABC etc go medical line...then those did not get through ended up in dentistry...

it depends where you want to go, as usual, dentistry, medical etc sure will need to service population. You many want to start at diploma level rather degree, unless you are up for business.

thanks for the prompt reply. Hoever im not exactly following what you're saying. There is a surplus of medical doctors in Australia? Hence people go into dental courses instead?

Apparently, translators are something that they're looking for.\\

good for those who are good in both English and Chinese (or any other more widely spoken languages)

back in the day, some civil servants didn't even need to be citizens or PR. these days still have a few that are more lax, like those related to financial services. those more to do with politics and foreign affairs will require citizens, and certain divisions in Canberra

but i know a lot of people feel very strongly against working in the public sector, not sure why

anyhow i think private sector is thriving, what fun it must be to be an engineer

Anywhere in the world, if you're looking the laziest bunch of self entitled pricks who worship the god of red tape you need not but look further than the civil service most of the time.

The only reason it's good to be an engineer is because 50 percent of Australia's exports are in resources despite only employing around 2.5 to 4 percent of the workforce. Thus the industry can afford to pay us. But the minute that starts sliding, I'm pulling the bloody ejection seat handle.

On the bright side though, once you have 5 years in OnG/Mining. You don't send out resumes anymore, people call you to offer you work.

Hi guys,

I have managed to get my employment references to claim 5 points for the 189 visa.
However they didn't include my salary in the letter.
I am able to provide my pay slips, bank statement and tax returns, would that be sufficient?

Can PR holders apply for Government jobs? I read somewhere that only citizens can apply for security clearance. Even jobs in companies with government contracts need security clearance. If this is the case, PR holders cannot work for government or government related jobs?
