Congratulation! Enjoy your trip there. Do remember to surf around the suburb you wish to stay as follow:-

1) Hurstville
2) Chatswood
3) Parramatta
4) Penrith

etc, this has to refer to your budget

My sis is there for a few years already and with rented place so I will not have to worry much about lodging. Its more about job offers, as I am already doing well in MY IT line. Lets just see how it goes, life is full of surprises.

I am on visa 175 which last for 5 years but I must make my first landing before August 2014 so I just think that I will go for a short vacation. My plan is to get a Aust Job from MY before coming over, a man can dream smile.gif

I have not decide on the exact date yet, but I will put it up here again when its confirm biggrin.gif I am deeply intrigued by Australia King's Cross SOP, as compared to MY's Haha. Need the info so I can plan my own secret operatives.

As for which suburb, I have no idea because I have not bothered to ask my sis yet LOL.

Even with the agent's help, I suggest you read up on the process so that you will know if the agent is pulling your leg or wasting your time.

Hey all,

Anyone not coming home to Malaysia this CNY 2014?

I am currently working on a CNY commercial project, and am looking for Malaysian Chinese students or young professionals away from home, who have not been back for CNY for a year or more.

The appropriate person(s) will be given the chance to record a video message to their family and loved ones for CNY 2014, and this will appear in digital and TV ads in Malaysia throughout the CNY period. This person will be compensated with an appropriate usage fee should they be chosen.

The ideal candidate:
QUOTE
Is a Malaysian Chinese student or young professional
Celebrates CNY
Has parents/loved ones at home in Malaysia & gets along with them
Has not returned home for CNY 2013
Does not plan to return for CNY 2014
Has not been back to Malaysia for at least a year (preferable but not necessary)

If you are this person or you know a person like this, please send a picture and the following details to cnymessage@gmail.com
QUOTE
Name:
Age:
Occupation:
Last time you saw your parents & where:
Last time you were back in Malaysia:
Last time you celebrated CNY with your parents & where:
Picture:

Thank You! rclxms.gif

I got to see where my sis is currently staying. I might or might not find my own place, as it is easier to take care of each other.

About 1 year but most of my friend who applied together with me got it in less than 6 months. My case was slightly more complicated as I was diagnosed and suspected of a series of health issue which need to be cleared. I was leading an unhealthy lifestyle smile.gif

Redfern went through gentrification for a while and it is not as bad as it used to be anymore.

Penrith is too far. Don't go Hurstville, there are only Chinese there. Come to Northern Beaches where I live tongue.gif

lane cove is not near king's cross ... but bout 15 mins should be okay give and take.... good suburb and if you play badmintons, i think the group is still going on every wednesday from 6 - 8pm at lane cove RSL. I live in Waitara which is pretty close by to lane cove.

i'd suggest if you are wandering into King's Cross for the first time, go in a group or someone to lead. a wrong turn / right turn might end you up into ladyboy sections

Though Penrith is far, that area is quite nice. They have a big WestField shopping mall there and the house price is still quite affordable and there is a train station which you can take to CBD anytime. If you buy your first house, you may even entitled for regional relocation grant.

So you said it, it is a different and remote town biggrin.gif

Lane Cove is great, for IT, Lane Cove / Ryde are rather central to anywhere you work.
