did u ask the shop , can it play ps1 games ? if yes it should be like normal method the way u put in ps2 games too

mine doesnt play like the normal method

it had to be set that the modchip have to be shut off(me thinks)
normal ps2 disc (ahem 1) play like normal
ps1 (ahem) and dvd movies have to press the power button for ~2sec upon power up

suddenly become like this.. so now have to change/take out disc quickily...

i facing some weird prob. either my mod chip out date or lens dirty or something.
now i facing red screen issue on some games, but play on other console it can be play . how ah ?

ok my turn to ask stupid question.. haha. pls bear with me....

my ps2 slim. as u all know can play both PAL and NTSC.. ok tat i know.. my Sony tv.. can play both PAL and NTSC.. tats wat i claims..

problem starts whn i start using PAL games.... i get picture and colour.. but a blur effect.. i did a comparison with drakengard 2.. the jap version which is in NTSC and the newly release one PAl version.. i could see tat the NTSC is so much clearer then the PAL one. its like the subtitles all can read. where as the PAL one.. cant hardly read cause its blur... and moving slightly up down left rigght.. why ler??

but i tried on my 14 inch tv.. i think the problem rests on the TV. but i cant really diff cause its a small screen.. so u know cant really tell the diff..

yea lo. i mean.. i only got one TV ma.. and it seems like PAL games.. got that put me off feature..so not nice to play with blurry screen.. but NOT all PAL games like tat wor. like RE4.. PAL and NTSC.. to me no diff.. sigh. i want to pin point the prob so i can fix it. and my neighbourhood.. not really friendly people. so i cant just go and ask if i can borrow yr tv for testing ps2 right?

Imo, yers shld be Modbo modchip.. which i heard nowadays pstwo slimline will be using unlike last time its using Matrix Infinity clone modchip like NH9.

I tried comparing 2 PStwo slimline, one its M.I clone and the other its Modbo modchip.. imo, the u can identify by looking at the start-up when the "Playstation 2" words comes out when u switch-on yer PStwo.

If u have NH9 or M.I clone, when startup u can see/notice theres a small wording just below the "Playstation 2" words (Infinity v1.38), and for modbo version will looks like theres a grey box or sumtimes distorted look.

So far i noticed the difference and heres are my comparisions :-

-: M.I. clone can play any discs from PS2 games to PSone games w/o any steps like "press reset 2 times and etc like Modbo modchip needed to do those steps to able to play PSone games or DVD movies"

-: M.I. clone can play all DVD movies from "backups to original" wherelse Modbo modchip cant play original DVDs.

Btw, modbo modchip its based on wut original modchip ah?... like NH9 its based on M.I. rite?.
