i have a problem that I ve been ignoring
my pstwo seems to be unable to load fahrenheit.
it just pass thru the PLAYSTATION2 splash and the tv flicker a bit
then nothing, even after 15 minutes nothing, no sound either
the disk is spinning though

then theres this problem with other two games
juiced and GTA:sa
juiced fmv is very slow even on the menu screen with the rx7 car speeding by. When theres no background movement its ok pulak

GTA:sa pulak alway get the black screen DISK READING ERROR
Some time this happens after loading, not even get to play the game yet

if no support for DVD9
my gt4 works without a hitch.

solve my fahrenheit problem
change a disk from a thicker to a thinner disk

Hey i got the same problem
but i dont feel that is a big problem
maybe its a quirk with the slim version

p/s when changing the disk try to keep your legs of the ground

do that so you dont be a big earth pin to your ps2

also on GT4

other games like GOW and ffX can have vibrate
maybe it placebo effect but i feel that the vibration is not that strong

ya mines a slim ver too

I found out what wrong with my controller
i bought a new ori 1 and got vibration
gotta go get mine to be fixed

another thing how much would a controller cost in kay-el?

hey all

The other day I saw a modchip operation procedure
(from my usual shop)
the thing is a green pcb with red wiring
on the pcb is written Messiah 3.2
but there are no marking on the chip itself
there are another smaller chip beside it

i just wanna ask ..
is this the real deal?

the theory is
when playing games the load time is sparse and not continuous(but also game dependent)
while the movie dvd, the system continue to retrive data from the disk
thats why the lens have to work harder compared to when playing games

plus the problem is compounded with the using of weaker lens(rumoured) by Sony Corps on the ps2s set

mine doesnt play like the normal method

it had to be set that the modchip have to be shut off(me thinks)
normal ps2 disc (ahem 1) play like normal
ps1 (ahem) and dvd movies have to press the power button for ~2sec upon power up

there is a fan on the slim version
it is on the chip and it is blowing out thru the rear, near the power/display plugs

failing lens kua
maybe needs adjustment

i really doubt the successfulness of this tech talk thread as it being touted

my version 12 PSTwo (slim) started to act up
it has problem running some games that could run previously, but now cant

this started when i have problem running GH3
so instintively, i burn a copy to DVDR+
and i got some random result
~using the dvdr+ as boot up (get past the "playstatiom", then change to play...~

and recently i open up the set
just to look

and after installing back
i play some movie dvd
but afterwards the disk was scatch to beyong playable condition near the edge
this i found out was coused by the lens ribbon surfacing too high

a little adjustment
and now no problem

come to think of it
previously, even before i open it up, the disk have scratch some of the other movie disk.. ...

sigh ..

help?
