Been to this Ishin Japanese restaurant on new year eve, try their New Year Eve dinner set. Thumbs Up

This afternoon been to Xenri Japanese restaurant in Old Klang Road and look for the chef discussing some business related stuff. So I've try their the Shiro Meguro Don (initially im ordering shake don, but shake out of stock), and with a lil suprise, a chawan mushi by chef complimentary. nyum haha

Overall is a good place to dine in, atmosphere, tea and the Don = 98% + 3% free chawan mushi = 101%

Honestly, that is the only reason I bought this voucher.

Maki-maki...mari-mari!!!

Sashimi!!! As you can see Salmon is always more popular than other fishes. This is the same as well

user posted image
This is the best! The tempura which I am talking about!

user posted image
As I mentioned earlier, Salmon was good! Other sashimi were not that impressive. As for the oyster, it is smaller than I thought. There are some I can chew sands in it. Freshness? Absolutely not flown in yesterday of course but still consider fresh.

user posted image
I just don't like when they prepared their cold Soba which already soaked with their sauce. No longer taste good. Let us do the soaking job!

user posted image
Udon is not bad because they let us do the soaking job!!!

user posted image
Dessert Station. I am telling you honestly. This section no longer refill after 1.30pm. Terrible! There are so many patrons around and this is the last choices that would like to have and it was near empty!!!

user posted image
Baskin Robbin ice cream!!! Delicious! Yummy! However, the bowl for the ice cream is finished and no waiter or waitress is there to care to put more bowls there!!!

Ambiance: 5/5
Service: 2/5
Taste: 3/5
Food Serving Speed: Fast
Recommended?: No-lar...unless you are having a voucher. Otherwise, it is not worthwhile at all.

Udon Tempura Set
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Overall: 4/5 - With just one hour break, I have no choice but to choose their lunch set which is pretty reasonable price. The Udon is pretty awesome to fill in my hungry afternoon after a long event hours.

Ambiance: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Food Serving Speed: Fast
Will I Revisit?: Yes, I still have not try their Sashimi yet!

Have you guys tried Senjyu at the Curve yet? Really decent food and good service as well. On http://www.sixcents.my/ , there's currently an on-going voucher whereby you get an exclusive set, means its not even on the menu!!!!!!!! I've tried it before and my personal favorite would be the sake set as you get wagyu beef! drool.gif

Look at their Sashimi!!! They only prepared it for us when we ordered. Not already prepared and displayed on the rack like a normal buffet restaurant. This is called fresh!!!

user posted image
Some makis! And they are still hot!!! I don't mean the rice of course laugh.gif

user posted image
California Roll and Unagi Roll which are still crunchy and crispy! This proves that this is not pre-made again! Otherwise, the seaweed wrapper will be stale.

user posted image
Adegashi Tofu - Must Try! I just love tofu...either edible or non edible...LOL

user posted image
I just can't had enough of sashimi because they are so fresh unlike other buffet restaurant such as Tenji or Jogoya!

user posted image
They only have three types of ice creams which are Chocolate, Wasabi and Green Tea

Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 3/5
Price: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Food Service Speed: Moderate
Will I Revisit?: Yes
Additional comments: I do enjoy ala-carte buffet! For complete review, please click here: http://chillout-soulout-freakout.blogspot.com

There are pros and cons about ala-carte buffet:
Pros:
1) Food are served hot and freshly made
2) You do not have to make or scoop your own food
3) You do not have to walk around and hunt for food.
4) Your service charges are greatly paid of.

Cons:
1) Food variety is lesser than a self service Japanese Restaurant
2) Less participation in making your own food.

Premium ura maki
Salmon, fried salmon & salmon roe - nice huge chunk, although i duno bout how premium u can get with just normal tuna chunks in mid
Tori karaage - background
Japanese sytle fried chicken - pretty mediocre and not authentic karaage

Rainbow Maki
Unagi, salmon, tuna, butterfish, flying fish roe & caviar; mmm this is one actually good, nice to see them pull off tuna/butterfish

Soft shell crab & unagi mentai maki
Soft shell crab & premium river eel with codfish roe; eel sushi was too small pieces being overpowered by the mayo flavor underneath it; the soft shell crab however was generous portion that actually gave u real crab to taste

Spicy Egg Curry @RM6.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Spicy flavor inside a sushi? A bold attempt but still not the level for my acceptance.

Inari 3/5 - Simplest still the nicest.

Unagi Sushi 2/5 - The unagi sauce is badly done

Salmon Carpaccio @RM9.90++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 2/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - I do not know what rubbish sashimi is this because the salmon pieces are so thin laying on top of each other which make it like a mess. You will feel full by looking at it.

Fried Hotate Sushi 2/5 - The hotate is badly taste!

Cha Soba @RM9.90++
Outlook: 2/5
Creativity: 1/5
Taste: 1/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 1/5 - This is the most horrible cha soba I ever seen. It is a colored noodles to me and the sauce is not self made...I think pour out from some on the shelf soy sauce in the supermarket.

Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 2/5
