Haha..ooic...sorry man...you gotta be direct. Too many things in my mind right now. In my opinion and experience, Kampachi and Zipangu are the same standard...at least to my tongue...hahahaha  biggrin.gif

okok. zipangu i've only eaten the unagi set for lunch and it was awesome (but never tried the sushi/sashimi). kampachi have been tempted to walk in several times but the price on the menu is scary sad.gif ... this weekend ... shall i bite the bullet and go try? lol.

you should see prices here in Singapork, some of them are madness. Places like tatsuya sushi with sgd75 for 5 pieces and ~$200 omakase sets ... all the way to kunio tokuoka at sentosa with its ridiculous sgd750 kaiseki. 750! bring a date and 10% service charge 7% gst and you're looking at sgd1.7k / rm4.3k for one dinner.

When we are earning RM, it is hard for us to dine in SGD too. Things will be different when you are working there, I were once working at KL for an management field for RM3K and shifted to SG branch for SG$3K. So I can able to dine normally at SG for that RM4.3k dinner (example).

Assorted Tempura in Hot Cheese (forgot the exact name for this dish, if you know, please do let me know...thanks!)

By looking at their creativity above, Sakae Sushi actually is not a bad Japanese Restaurant but too bad that no one really taking care and observe their branches in terms of their quality and attitude towards the food. If you lost your money, you can earn back one day but if you lost your trust, it will take a lifetime for you to earn it back. That's what happened to Kluang Station which I will blog about it later on.

So for me, Sakae Sushi is no longer in my recommendation list but I will try to give them a chance again one day.

@sam how much you pay for the lunch?

Anyway supposedly Ippodo is the biggest ramen chain in the world. I suppose of all the ramen places I've tried so far it's by far the most flavorful soup base.

Blogpost here otherwise just see pictuars and drool!

wewheeet. gotta agree with u, just cant have enough though every time that i visit, there must be a super long queue. so wish they would open an outlet in kl. but u shouldnt have too much as the supergood soup has so much lard in it i freaked out the first time i saw it. but thumbs up for every unique item on the menu, meticulous staffs and service. i wonder if theyre japanese. they sound jap.

98++ per person eh

also when talk about consistency there, it's just....shiatz

at 1st when my friend order the teppanyaki beef, he order for medium rare. and it taste GOOD!

then i went and order from the same chef and asked for medium rare too. At this point of time, another person besides me order for rare. And guess what? Both medium rare and rare are cooked side by side at the same pan, cooked and served at the same time lol

Result? My medium rare turns out like medium well done

They wrapped napkin like kimono!

They do not have raw oysters and mussels. They cheese baked them. Mussels sucks! Oyster below par!

user posted image
Their sushi and sashimi...Salmon sushi is quite ok....but others are still below par.

user posted image
Adegashi Tofu is good as usual. The reason I said this is because if a Japanese restaurant can't even make a simple tofu right...they better close down.

user posted image
Yakitori and salmon. Does they look interesting to you? No right?

user posted image
Fried udon with tempura. The fried udon already cold.

My sister cooked for me for the first time in my life.

Look at the ice! I thought I have not shaved the ice at all.

I tried my best. I just failed to love you, Eyuzu. I am sorry.

Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Recommended?: No way! or Regret it!
Other comment: This is the lousiest Japanese Restaurant buffet in a hotel like Eastin Hotel. The varieties are so few and the food are not that delicious. I do not understand why vKeong would highly recommend a Japanese Restaurant like this. A total letdown.
I can't post all the pictures here, so to get more detail on how bad is their food, check the link below:

wokay so I tried santouka. the braised pork cheek is super win, tender and melt in mouth. but also a tad bit salty so if combine with the shoyu base, end up a bit salt overload.

other than the braised pork cheek though, ippudo still wins on the noodle + soup.

blogwhore link here otherwise just enjoice the photos!

Ippudo in NYC also really good. Much better than that over-rated momofuku noodle bar. But I think daikokuya in LA is better.
