Spam some photo first.

Dozo ... I don't really consider their food Japanese, but since they advertise themselves as "Fine Modern Japanesque" ... then OK lor. rm110 for 6-course set lunch, rm170 for 7-course set dinner. Food's pretty good.

Keisuke ... this restaurant opened by TV Tokyo's RAMEN KING for 2011 ... but his signature Prawn Stock Ramen made by boiling few hundred ama ebi (sweet shrimp), he don't want to serve anymore cos local singaporeans all go and eat and cannot appreciate. The tonkotsu and shoyu ramens too salty for me, but crab stock ramen is interesting.

No one is interested in your Singapore Japanese restaurants lah

Johor ppls can cross border and be seated in the restaurants in half an hour, must give some love to them too. But since you feel so hot & bothered about it, nah here's some set lunch photos from Zipangu KL

stimix, it's time you do something liao.

if not ppl share here with pictures and comments, then say blogwhore, like that better we don't share anything at all?

i can agree if someone just post a simple link of his/her blog and ask ppl go there, without a single picture or words, thats i a agree

but to share out pictures and words here, and comment like that? is this necessary?

this is not the first time already for shyshy_gal

I hv warned razon vista long time ago not to promote his blog too obviously.. There are lotsa sensitive forumers here. That's why I asked him to only mention in his signature & not on the psot..See this is the result. Anyway Razor already mellow down by not asking ppl to link to his blog but impliedly put up a small link..

It's acceptable at this moment of time.. but well..there are still lotsa sensitive fourmers for sure..haha (Razor - I told you this b4 haha)

One thing I do not understand, why will a forumer butthurt when we are sharing some useful information here? If they have a better information, just share it too! It is all about sharing in the web. People loves information and people loves sharing too. That is why all the social networking site like Facebook, Twitter and etc are for.

Jeez...I will improve with my link next time if that hurt so badly.

Yes, it has arrived to Johor Premium Outlet

Toro Sushi @RM48++/pc
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 1/5
Overall: 3/5 - Toro means Tuna belly. This is the fattest part of the fish and that is why the price is crazily priced. As for the taste, of course you will love it.

user posted image
Zaru Cold Soba
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - Even without the special sauce which usually accompanying with a cold soba. This taste equally good and very new to us. We love it.

user posted image
Sashimi Moriawase - Just to ensure the quality is the same like KL. So we have ordered the same Sashimi again. The verdict is...still as good as KL and thick too!

user posted image
Kaki Teppanyaki
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - Even though I love Kampachi but somehow this one is way off their standard. The way they make make this grilled fresh oyster which contains quite heavy bitter taste which spoiled my whole taste bud. The bitter taste comes from the black color over grilled spots.

Ambiance: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Food Serving Speed: Moderate
Recommended?: Yes
Extra Comments: Not 100% of the menu here are the same like other branches, such as they do not serve fresh oyster and they does not have a cha soba. This is what I noticed of. However, as for the quality, as far as I can see they have maintain it well. Since Kampachi already started their chain outlet, I hope the quality will continues.

Started our dinner with Choya (160ml) @RM38.00++. Choya is a Japanese Plum Wine. Highly recommended for people who like to have sourish flavor with slight sweetness inside your alcohol drink.

user posted image
Shirako Teppan @RM18.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - Shrooms~~~ Deliciously done with the adequate amount of cheesy buttery taste. However, too few shrooms to really enjoy them all.

user posted image
Unagi Sushi @RM28.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - The unagi itself taste good but when it is served together with the rice which 3x thicker than the unagi itself, I feel like eating the rice more than unagi. The maximum thickness must not more than 2x thickness of an unagi.

user posted image
Sashimi Moriawase @RM180.00++ - 8 types of sashimi with 3 pieces each, consider the cheapest if to compare with Fukuya Japanese Restaurant and Kampachi Japanese Restaurant. However, you cannot choose any seafood you would like to eat freely. So you only can select what is given in the menu. Unless you tell them you are allergic with prawn (ebi) for example, they will try their best to change it to other similar or lower value seafood for you.

Inaniwa Cold @RM22.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Used with Zaru Soba and Cha Soba so I thought wanna try something different. In short, I still prefer Cha Soba.

Closer shot on the ingredients to mix with the sauce. Slightly more than the usual one I had.

user posted image
Chawanmushi @RM10.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - Chawanmushi in a restaurant let this can never be taste any bad. It is just hope to see any different with other restaurant but unfortunately nothing special with this chawanmushi.

Curry Udon @RM22.00++
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - I always like a curry which has heavy curry fragrance with a slight spicy kick. This curry udon met my criteria.

Temaki Negitoro @RM12.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Negitoro means minced tuna belly. Crispy seaweed wrapper with lots of minced tuna belly meat. However, not really impressive.

Ambiance: 5/5
Service: 4/5

Boneless Chicken Teppan @RM15.00++
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Using the whole chicken thigh for this which makes the meat extra delicious. Of course, the gravy for it is well done as well. Very delicious and fulfilling my lunch appetite.

Ambiance: 3/5
Service: 3/5

Recommended?: Yes, for a great lunch

Restaurant Name: Mikan Japanese Cuisine, Jalan Sultan Ismail
Dining Time: Dinner

I have been in search for some really good Japanese Food, quite a bit more authentic of course. The sad thing about the restaurants in Kuala Lumpur is that the quality has been dropping, but prices has been increasing.

Had their normal Ala-Carte dishes, but will post more on their wine pairing food later on.

user posted image

Chawan Mushi, favorited by everyone! Love the soft and flavorful texture. A must have! Price RM 8

user posted image

Next up was california temaki, freshly made which made it taste good, but overall flavor was very much the same as other restaurant. Price RM 6

user posted image

Of course, it is a must to order Sashimi when dining in a Japanese restaurant. Needless to say more, very fresh seafood is expected as the head chef of Mikan imports the fresh goods twice a week. Price RM 48

user posted image

Sashimi Salad! A healthy approach perhaps? smile.gif Price RM 16

user posted image

Here comes the sushi and rolls! Sushi Moriawase, soft packed rice top with fresh seafood! Melt... smile.gif Price RM 38

user posted image

Spider Maki, basically soft shell crab maki. Crispy and fragrant insides along with their aromatic Japanese rice. Yummy. Price RM 20

user posted image

Now, this is something rather special, Foie Gras maki, a chef's special. Soft tender duck liver (sadly not goose) melting in my mouth was really needed! Price RM 48

user posted image

Here comes the main dishes. Chicken Teriyaki, said to be also a chef's signature. The concept of this dish is very different from the other restaurant, tender meat coated by its crispy skin. Must try guys! Price RM 22

user posted image

And there was Gindara Teriyaki (cod fish). My favorite, very nice oily fish! Price RM 32

user posted image

Opted for this instead of Wagyu, as said in the beginning of the post, wagyu will be featured in the wine pairing menu. That being said, their standard beef teppanyaki is good enough for you to crave for more! Make sure its ordered medium rare. Price RM 32

Had to skip desserts, over capacity!

Overall, I enjoyed every single dish and have been returning to this restaurant every now and then. Highly recommended!

Dunno ler, it was part of a quasi-kaiseki set meal. I've seen whole muskmelons at Isetan going for like rm200+ per fruit though, wtf that kind of price how to eat?
