QUOTE(xDingx @ Oct 20 2011, 12:19 AM) dear all sifu here, im not sifu but ill try my best 2 answeri'm newbie who have a small glass aquarium and plan to start my 1st planted aquarium..i wan to ask that: - can i setup the aquarium without the co2 system? it looks like expensive... -can tell the price range for the aquasoil and the powersand? - how do u guys control the water hp and temprature? - do v need to clean the aquarium? by using the gravel vacumn? Thank u. - can i setup the aquarium without the co2 system? it looks like expensive of cos u can, but some plant can survive and some cant....moss, fern, anubias, some stems,HG can but the growth rate much better when then co2 supplied, perhaps u can DIY using the yeast formula or can use liquid carbon..... - can tell the price range for the aquasoil and the powersand? there are several types of aquasoil in market...price range might be various depend on the brand and types, powersand also hv two types normal n special(more expensive)....but some can growth plant even using garden soil n sand...powersand is not a must, u can replace it using rocks or lava rocks - how do u guys control the water hp and temprature? im so sure about hp, but temp u can use fan, chiller or in ac room....fan also not a must if ur tank reside in cool area - do v need to clean the aquarium? by using the gravel vacumn? cleaning aquarium is part of the routine of this hobby, while doing water change u can scrap the glass n suck out unwanted stuff from ur aquarium.....never use gravel vacum, im using water hose tube instead.... Planaria - A how to get rid off!
Panacur and Flubenol are medicaments used for de-worming cats, dogs and other pets. Due to the lack of missing drugs for fish tanks, shrimp keepers use them to get rid of planaria. Planaria are limped worms with triangular heading and can harm shrimp and their offspring. If your shrimplets always disappear after a few days, planaria may be the reason. They even attack full grown shrimp Here is a step by step guide using Panacur: -Try to catch as lot of planaria as possible with a planaria trap and remove them from the tank. Remove snails before using Panacur, also. -Do your weekly water change (20-30%) and remove as much detritus (=biological waste) as you can. -Add the medicament. Prefer to do under-dosing more than overdosing! One pill Panacur KH 250 (with 250 mg Fenbendazol) is sufficient for 432 liters. Check out the table below and only calculate with the nett water volume of your tank! -After 5 days change 30-50% water and repeat the treatment and dose Panacur second time. -After 5 days, do another water change (30-50%) and filter with carbon to extract the leftover of medicament. ![]() ![]() credit to : http://www.shrimpnow.com/content.php/278-P...-to-get-rid-off Added on October 21, 2011, 10:33 am QUOTE(Newgen @ Oct 21 2011, 10:18 AM) hehee.. sulawesi is a bit different![]() ![]() for more sulawesi species.. -> http://www.guitarfish.org/2008/02/07/new-sulawesi-shrimp WATER PARAMETERS Parameters should be almost exactly as follows: QUOTE PH of 8.0-8.2 GH 1-2 KH 4-6 Temp of about 82 The best way to achieve these parameters is to use water with the correct GH, the PH and KH of the source water not being important as the crushed coral will take care of that. The substrate should be crushed coral. Many people mix the coral with sand because it looks a lot better that way. You also need to use water with the correct parameters for water changes, so you will need some kind of bucket with crushed coral, a heater and an air stone in it. These shrimp are so sensitive it is not recommended to do any more than 10 percent water change at a time. This should be plenty however as you shouldn't be keeping these with any fish. I have one way to kill my BBA or BGA etc without affected any fish and shrimp, without hand wet and save your seachem excel
1. Cut off the bottom part of 1.5 little minimal water and the small bottle (small bottle is to come out from the water surface) 2. join the 2 bottles tip together (i put rubber band in the between to get tight rip) 3. cover up those plant affected by BBA 4. pour 0.5ml- 1.0ml seachem excel to the bottle tip 5. let the plant soak for one hour or more 6. say bye bye to the BBA ![]() |
