I have found that my battery life is absolute shite no matter what I do unless I use Juice Defender and switch to EDGE over 3G/HSDPA. I lost 12% batt in about 1hr 30mins, with Android OS being the highest user, despite the fact that the screen was off the whole time and there was basically no waketime either. It's just dreadful. Looks like I'm only going to be using 3G when watching youtube or for any heavy surfing sessions/tethering. Can't afford the battery drain otherwise.

You can only go so far with optimzations, looks like a bigger physical battery is the only real way to go for much improved battery life.

As for all the new shite coming out, I'll wait 1-2 more years before upgrading, unless something REALLY revolutionary comes out.

I still think something's not quite right though. I mean, others are reporting much better battery times than this. Is it possible that I got a bad battery?

Haha, I don't think anyone who has been keeping up with Engadget is surprised at the announcement. Talk about overkill though.

Damn... really tempted to flash batista 3.7.3 now. But seems like many users reporting bugs.

Anyone with the latest batista + RAGEmod?

Currently cognition v1.5 + Ragemod gives me great performance and good battery life smile.gif

I've decided to give this one more try. 1.26am, 79% battery with 3G/HSDPA enabled and Juice Defender disabled. Let's see what happens in the morning.

Arrivederci, LYNers.

samsung already made one of the thinnest & lightest superphone around. best spec (at the moment) , best screen which even apple is wanting so badly of .

myb it's time to crack into a new undertaking. smack a 3000mah power into a batt of smaller size....i think that will sapu the ultra superphone market of quad cores, 3D HD Nova display, ddr3 RAM , n even superphones that help you wash your car...

charging the phone everyday like that is actually quite dreadful to me...my phone end of day remain about 20-50% dpding biz good or not lol
if a superphone can last 3 days like that guarantee have all the market cake lol

Well like it or not Apple had it right when they prioritized user experience (and in a way, balance) over anything else, at least on the i4 upwards. Everybody else, at least in the Android camp, seems hell bent on winning this new war they came up with, the spec war.

Its putting the megapixel war to shame man. And android can't even take full advantage of 2 cores yet lol, let alone live on for over a day lol.

Only other camp that stands a chance is WP7. Shame it's just not taking off that well yet.

Not to say I don't love my SGS2, I do, yellowing display and all (yes, I think my blue subpixels are dying really fast).

But yes I agree, rather than going full blown on a war nobody can win, Android manufacturers should start looking at new battery technologies and fast.

maybe time to invest some time to check your processes and wakelocks...

even when i'm on stock kf1, my overnite drain was only 1% per hr with wifi (auto-wifi-on from 9pm to 9am daily)..

or can borrow/buy another batt to test.. blush.gif

Hi All,

I have a problem with my sg2..
I left my phone charging overnight..When i woke up. Unplugged the charger, the power saving mode still "Suspended for charging"..(although unplugged the charger) .
I turn off my phone. Then, the green battery icon with yellow triangle and red thermostat came out .
It wont start until i plug the charger. ..Then when i turn off my phone, it keep restarting itself.(in other words i cant turn my phone off).

The "Suspended for charging" and the green battery icon with yellow triangle and red thermostat keep happened if i left my phone charge overnite.

Anyone know what is the meaning of this?
Should i go to samsung for warranty?
Kindly advice and share ur thoughts.

Tyvm

Hi Every1, is it true that the yellow tint will go away afta we have root or put another custom rom??? kindly engliten me, check with the service centre in plaza square, opposite times square, the senior technician told that the yellow tint is normal. He also showed a letter showing from management of samsung that its normal to have yellow tink on the left side. I bought my phone for 1 day and d second day itself i can see the yellow tint. I bought it from DIGI and they advice me to send to service centre for replacement. When i wen to service centre, all they saisd was , they oni can change the screen or they cannot do anything else. They won provide a replacement. So my question is , is it true that the yellow tint will dissapear when we change the rom?

Some interesting research findings - Underclocking and undervolting does not really save THAT much power lol:

While screen on anyway. Going back to my old 1000/200 settings then lol. No wonder going to 800/200 didn't feel like much diff anyway lol.

I uninstall juice defender altogether as i find it always distrupt my network signal. Maybe it is good for rooted phone but for stock rom better disable/enable network manually.

Setting > wireless and network > mobile networks > data roaming (disable/untick it)

Take out your battery for ten minutes then put it back. If you use 3G watchdog app, make sure you update the app as the older version had a bug that prevent your phone from charging.

If they say can provide screen replacement then you better go for it. Look for a slightly blueish one as it will last longer.
Some ppl say this yellowish tint can be reduce after updating firmware. But i dont know whether it's true or not. Better try the screen replacement first.
