cc approval is very 'abstract'..its very hard to tell bank A easily approved, bank B the hardest to get approved, etc..its different for each person, each person you apply to, each branch, etc...last time, i get approved by maybank but my colleague get rejected..we graduated from the same uni, work at the same company at the same time, with same salary and same jawatan also..i apply with agent, he go direct to bank branch...i think if really want cc, try to find the agent

i pay my credit card using cheque, in the first day it showed in online banking that the cheque already clear but after few days the money is credited back and it said RTD (cheque return)

I call my branch, they said no signature (although I think already sign), my question is that the cheque will be return back to me directly by the credit card issuers or to the branch where I have current account. Even my branch also could not give definite answer as well as the CS. should I ask bank to stop the cheque and issue new one

Well, I had cheque made to OCBC for my CC payment but I wrote the wrong date doh.gif OCBC sent the cheque back to my home.

But I also have cheque where I deposited in my RHB CASA without signature several times doh.gif doh.gif and the bank officer would call me and I would just go over and sign it.

did anyone receive SMS from Hong Leong Bank say will increase credit card limit and send a certain code with IC number to a number to confirm?

just want to ask if anyone received the same SMS as me

like ronnie said, interesting. Please call HLB CS (number behind your card) and confirm with them and please update here if it was a genuine SMS or not. Thank you.

Dont think they will request IC. They should be requesting card number instead because line increase is on the specific card.

Yup usually they will send a letter to tell you that the cc limit has been increased. So requesting your IC to confirm seems something is not right. All my increment in CL have always via official letter including HLBank

If not mistaken BNM say cannot simply increase credit limit without informing the card members so I thought it is a new way to increase credit limit for customers

Offer customers first and ask for their approval.

Hi all, I did payment by using my CC.
Then I look at my statement, it shows that my card has been charged twice for the same amount.
I called Maybank, they advised me on filing a dispute. Anyone ever experienced this?

How fast will this be resolved? hmm.gif

That's why I guess the new tactic is to solicit customers by the way of SMS. So once customer replied the SMS, they took it as proof that customer wants increase in line. In the event that is the new tactic, I don't think they will request for IC as well. It should be card number instead.

better u wait for December payslip as if you get rejected because of this reason you have to wait 6 months to apply again

Mistakes sometimes happens. Such often due to the merchant double charging you accidentally.
Yes, you should file a dispute.

How fast ? Normally takes a while and if you have sufficient documentation to proof double charging then the bank will clear the charges quickly or just wait. I would say the clearing will take between 1-3 months.

You no need to worry about the GST and the annual fee, it will totally waived for the first year. I suppose if you call up to waive everything, they will do so for the 2nd year.

The only benefit I see from this card is, you can enjoy 0% interest charges for outstanding not more than RM2000 for gold card and RM3000 for platinum card. You no need to pay full but make sure your outstanding amount don't exceed 2000 for gold
