I see.. I was not advised on this, I mean the banker should know if 6k cannot cover the repayment of 40k. What's the eligibility loan amount to get off 6k nett salary then?

And btw I onli miss payment twice due to nvr receive statement.. Like this also consider bad payment record edi? Omg.. Can I still try and apply then?

What I heard from the new BMN rules for applying loans using new method which is using NETT salary instead of GROSS salary to do the calculation. Addtional, they will minus out all your commitments before approving your loan amount

hurm..my personal opinion..your application might be rejected if based on current bnm guidelines on DSR..just sharing simple method to calculate it

your debt/your income x 100

Example:
your net income =rm1300\2=650
installment for car loan =rm500
installment for PL applied = rm400

900\650x100=138%

your DSR is 138% exceed the limit cap by most banks on 85% only..

why the net income devide by 2?

Car loan is much cheaper than personal loan. Whether new car or used car.

Hi...I'm a newbie.....

Have read most of the replies, why very little mention about Bank Islam and Bank Rakyat Personal Loan which offered quite low rate (3.25 - 3.50 for 3 years tenure).

p/s: plan to apply from bank islam, any advise?

I went to Bank Rakyat yesterday. The PL is offered to private sector too. But limited. Only to companies that list Bank Rakyat as their panel bank.

yups...sort of...but some company allowed certain bank (other than bank for salary debit) to auto-deduct their employee salary for loan, etc. For example, one of my friend, his salary is through Maybank..but his company listed Bank Rakyat as its panel bank. So Bank Rakyat is allowed to auto-deduct his salary for the personal loan he applied.
