Maybe cause distance too far. I don't even get a connection when trying to connect upstairs with downstairs. I think upstairs and downstairs are separated cause got 2 box in my house. One up one down. doh.gif

Not really, as long as the device can support vlan.500 (PPPoE for internet) and 600 (bridge for IPTV) smile.gif
Or, you may check out some option HERE base on your requirement+setup+budget.

I have not tried my third floor though. Even 2nd floor also cannot, I doubt third floor can. Same floor nearby it's okay but from one end to the other end, it's connected but sometimes disconnected I think. doh.gif
Distance from one end of the homeplug to the other end is approx 35 metres away at the same floor. Used to use that for another wireless router at the other end but since it's always crappy and stuff, I dismantled it. doh.gif

Oh, what I meant was after the MikroTik thingy, I can pretty much use any router or switch or whatever network device right?
Anyway, The router connected to the BTU should be close to the STB? If TM comes and it's very far, they will charge on extra cabling? Is the cable connecting the MikroTik to STB the normal RJ-45 port? If yes, means I should set it up beforehand so TM won't charge some super expensive charges? hmm.gif
Thanks.

If you are referring to RB250GS, then yes, you may use any WAN-base router gateway, just setup PPPoE will do.

If you are referring to RB750/G/GL, itself it's already a router gateway, without wifi, so you can use unmanaged switch to extend connection for other devices.

Not necessary, it depends on where it's your router gateway location & the STB for IPTV area.
If exceeded the standard, installer will charge you.
So it's better you plan your internal home network wiring prior to installation.

Yes, connection from the router gateway to STB is Cat cable.

This is my experience with my first unifi downtime. The problem is cannot stabilize the link and auth on btu. Called unifi center on Friday night at 7pm and went through the whole process bla bla bla. At 12am same day the problem was solved quite impressed. The reason of the problem was at their server.

The STB is directly connected to the first router gateway after the BTU? Or can it be connected to the 16-port ethernet switch based on your setup?

the problem is still there, i still get the "hang" issue every 20-30 minutes.

The STB is connected directly to the RG's port with vlan-tagged 600, I don't see there is a need for a switch in between.
Please take a look at one of the replacement option HERE ,depends on which model, I normally attach the connection diagram at the bottom for better understanding.

Btw, what do you mean by "the first router gateway", is there a second RG? blink.gif

If you are using the RB750 and wish to extend both internet+IPTV to another section, you may refer HERE for some idea on how to trunk both vlan.500 & 600 over a single Cat cable (credit to JinXXX), either using RB250GS or TD-W8960N on the other section.

wait and test your DIR615 first.. mine was v. bad i replace with vigor 2130 and now great... support unifi and iptv out of box
my fren have stock DIR615 and its stable he is not complaining of anything...

so test urs first maybe no need to spend any money rclxms.gif

if you get the usual reboot/wifi drop ... then its better get 1 box replacement with the DIR615... not expensive vlan switch jus for tagging + another good router brand/AP

see my sig for recommen depend on ur use... but wait 1 week test ur stock router first icon_rolleyes.gif

Wow!! Something high tech here. KLSEET can add this to the list. Maybe you will try it too xD

I love the "BLOCK" feature!!! Awesomeeeeeee You download, I block you, 5mins no internet! Love it!

QUOTE
The router can handle extreme loads for prolonged periods of time without heating up thanks to the H-NAT engine that keeps the CPU free. It was designed for 800Mbps+ speeds, the current VIP5/BIZ5, VIP20 or even VIP100/VIP500 in the future are still well below its capacity.
EPIC! drool.gif

Aww... Dual band, but not simultaneous I think!

Saw the feature I need!

No way. Especially when you're using TM default router and sharing with others. You can only limit ur download AND upload to a level that your gaming experience will not be affected. Else, I can't think anything you can do here.

BTW, can UniFi goes IPV6? If yes, how? What's the advantage? Beside higher number of IPs
