Not sure if anyone from Lowyat forum here is interested in getting Vigor 2130n router (with wireless and Unifi compatible) from DrayTek Malaysia.  I have sent a product enquiry to their sales team two days ago and received an official reply from them that they are having sales promotion for Vigor 2130n router (limited units only) at the moment.

Their customer service reply to all my enquiries promptly and professionally.  The price is quite attractive, so I have ordered 1 unit of Vigor 2130n from DrayTek.  biggrin.gif

It really surprise me that they even help me to update my router to the latest firmware and configure it to be Unifi-ready before courier it to me.  tongue.gif

If you are planning to get a Vigor router, do contact their sales team at sales@draytek-malaysia.com smile.gif

More information on the router can be obtained here: Vigor 2130 series

Ya, if not because of the sales promotion, I won't be getting Vigor 2130n at the moment because the original price is just too expensive.

Vigor is actually being used mostly by companies/offices. For home users, I think you are right. There are very few Vigor home users at the moment due to pricey issue.

I am currently pending my Unifi to be installed, sometime first or second week of Nov 2011 so I can't provide you with ping and speedtest result now. Will do it later when my Unifi is installed and ready.

My Unifi will be installed in the landed property, so I think it should be fiber then.

If I am not mistaken, the promotional price is the same price as Vigor 2130 which is without wireless. smile.gif

i pay rm490 for my non wireless

before i buy i check price... online shop its higher... local supplier selling cheaper than all but still too expensive for home owner.. tplink can get unifi router for less than rm100 now...

but i hv no choice i was sick of my housemate they tell me to my face i dun download and i see the stock dir615 led blink like crazy and drop reboot/commit suicde all time
so i search all day for a router that real bandwidth control and handle heavy then found vigor

theres vpn and builtin server nd other useless stuff for me i never use.. i guess i had to pay for this stuff in the price.. all i wanted was bandwidth control that i can set in web ui not some hard command lines stuffs

if want ultra highend then really worth it.. my ip stay same for weeks never drop... its always better buy a router from a serious network brand.. but for small group ppls useing ym and mail no heavy p2p.. then dis model is BIG waste of money. 90% of feature never use..

But when I using mobile phone, android, I facing connection unstable. Connected wifi, sometimes fast, sometimes like lost connection.

Is there anyone face the same prob?

hah sure got the entry one? i try it bro when i enable it with 7 people u noe what happen? router crash faster.. cpu cannot handle normal traffic ... now aso have to classify which one is important one also with qos? doh.gif

so u tell me i should buy expensive router like asus and then void warranty by flash it to open source firmware which maintained by a guy or two when they have free time?

i use linux .. and linux on router very interesting i try those open source firmware before but its just headahce i dont want.. usb works.. doesn work.. wireless driver not full support yet..blah

so what router can i use to fully hardware support and stable for this nice firmware? WRT54G rclxms.gif rolleyes.gif

click here then "bandwidth managemt" then see "smart bandwdith limit"

see how easy to setup? check "qos control list"

my housemates know we got unifi.. if i limit the speed explicit for example 2mb they angry and know it that i admin network. but now i can set the router to limit it when they reach session limit..
so how it work? if u use youtube the router will give u full speed streamin fast smooth... if u torrent it will reduce the bandwidth u can take to less than 1mb.. no matter what setting u put in torrent cannot exceed 1mb
so torrent works but u dont make other user in network go rclxub.gif everyone is happy can skype can youtube smooth

can give me any router that can do this and have months uptime and cost less than rm500? i will put in my sig

that alone FOR ME is why i paid the high price

so in my opinoin it depends on ur use if 1 person and mom/dad/bro only using the router.. then pay 500 for router its like throw ur money in the dustbin bcoz no need dis control/features and the entry one/stock one will give same speed like any router get
but if u sharing with many people and they abuse then dont buy "gaming router" junk then use ur hax0r skillz to flash to open source firmware with new version every week... get real router from network company

wah, dasat one vigor, match with price la.

BTW, if DNS want to set to opendns, how to force all LAN users using the same opendns?

meaning that if user want manually changing DNS in their computer, they cannot access certain sites.
use opendns specified by router, only then can.

for better understanding, case like that man said in this forum http://forums.opendns.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=6524

sorry bro, i noob only.
