international link seems to be back up, i can get 500 kbps on my wupload today biggrin.gif

Hi, can anyone confirm this whether the international AAG cable thing is up?
I am still getting lousy DL speed (less than 1 MB/s) and latency (700 ms) when connecting to U.S server on a VIP 10. Hardly can play my RIFT properly. Very frustrating, but the most frustrating thing ever is when i called UNIFI and tell them about the issue especially the latency. They will ask me back, what is LATENCY !!! OMG.

No need to google. Just go to Unifi customer portal, go to my bills and you'll see this notification

First you are given RM500 tax relief for internet; assuming your effective (after all reliefs and deductions) tax rate is 15%, then the tax savings works out to be RM75 per year.

Now if you have VIP5 at RM149/month = RMRM1788/year; 6% tax = RM107.30.

And why those prepaid mobile users don't have to pay 6% tax?

Why prepaid mobile user have to?

Afterall, we should ask, why do we pay 6%? I really doubt the need for us to pay 6%. Why don't they charge 6% from telco instead of end user? WHY?

I got no comment on those restaurant but just telcos

They're making a large margin of profit from us and now want us to bear that 6%? But restaurant also la == Like mamak! Sugar rise few tenth cents, the rise the price of each Teh tarik 20 cents. Don't tell me you make 2~5 teh tarik with 1kg of sugar...

Should stop here. A bit related to politic. laugh.gif

The 6% is service tax, so it applies to all types of services such as phone, astro, restaurant, workshop, etc. Post paid mobile bill has 6% tax, but the govt is deferring the 6% tax on prepaid mobile services.

Telcos (like all business entity / individual) pay tax on earnings (income for individuals). The 6% is targeted at consumers. Similar to GST in Singapore (and other countries), you pay tax on goods and services purchased (with exemption on some items).

You are taxed (PCB) before you received your income, after that you are taxed when you spend your income.

haha, this is my 3rd week waiting for solution.. the best part.. they keep closing my support ticket without feedback/contact me, keep changing new modem.. now huawei modem again.. for info.. my location is highrise building..probably i'm the only 1 using it?

this is really bad experience for me to contact them using my own handphone T_T

3 weeks = 1 call per day.. everytime do the same thing and same sentences, each call cost me around rm3-rm5

this morning the IPTV seems working again, i saw the STB showing the channel number and the lan 4 port for IPTV is blinking again.

this morning unifi called me again, i think this time the technician and asked when they can come to my house to check, i told him no need and asked him to call me back again tonight for confirmation of the IPTV status when i get home.

i don't think the iptv issues linked to hardware problem, for my case lah because it went down and up again by itself.

still got but in HD only.
currently universal and syfy channels have both SD and HD which is redundant really. same with fashion tv but fashion tv seems to have different program for SD and HD channels.

You should find it on the paper. It's a 13 alphanumeric phrase I received it in an email

eg:

aEJAELQDFJ8Fi

Else, you can find it from your DIR615 too. Look for the steps from unifi handbook~

thx ! i tried to search for the email received from tm and all the passwords are in there.. thx bro

you can still view the channels using CRT tv as long as you managed to connect the STB to your TV.

and yes better change to HD TV, the picture quality is crystal clear for HD channels especially luxe.tv, other HD channels have mixed sources, some shows in HD and some in SD.

Thank you for your reply.  I am actually in a dilemma whether to choose BIZ5 or VIP5.  For BIZ5, it is unlimited usage but I won't be able to have the IPTV.

rattan mentioned before that there is a lowyat forum member which is using BIZ5 but is able to have IPTV as well, hope the member is able to clarify on this matter.

Thank you.

If I can remember correctly, that member got BIZ at the office and VIP at home, So what he did is bring the STB unit to his office and key in his VIP user and password to get IPTV at the office. He was saying something about his home got ASTRO already.

That begs us the next conundrum. Can a VIP username and password be used in 2 different location?
