 Balance Transfer, What is it actually???

Balance Transfer newbie question:
must use billed outstanding amount to do Balance Transfer?
can use unbilled outstanding amount to do Balance Transfer?

unbilled is means today I buy an item for 10k, the transaction appeared in the internet banking 2 days later, but havent reach statement date yet...

so, can I directly go apply for balance transfer to another credit card?

hi, can we BT existing BT account?

e.g.

BT to bank A for 6 months for 0%..

then at the 6th month, can we BT again to another bank?

can, as many did CIMB 0% 6 months and then applied for MBB 12 months 0% (promotion expired last month April 2011).

YES can. if u BT more than current balance (outstanding + recent/unbilled), the card will have negative balance (as if u already pay more).

BT is for credit card. so u must have credit card.

CIMB BT doesn't allow you to transfer more than what's outstanding balance.

Can. I just did that. Steps:

(1) 20+ Apr 2011 Fax in new CIMB CC application.
(2) Early May CC approved and received card by PosLaju. (<2 weeks)
(3) 4 May Fax in BT form
(4) 6 May BT Approved (2 working days)
(5) 10 May BT paid out (another 2 working days)

providing that the CC is approved. Otherwise, you can't apply for BT.

she have maybank visa petronas.
and she just get her maybankard2 amex + mastercard.

can she BT visa petronas outstanding to mbb2 amex?

i dont think so can BT, but she can 'transfer' all the outstanding from visa petronas to maybank2 by calling CS. i believed 1 of the forumer here did before.

You CANNOT Balance Transfer within the same bank lah....
You need to Balance Transfer to another bank's credit card.

24months - 0.375%
36months - 0.413%

can anyone help me calculate the interest for RM5000 bt with above rate? I found that the 24 months rate is the best? correct?
