That was exactly what I thought, as the Maybankard 2 Visa Platinum is useless to me and I won't use it for retail purchases. Also, the BT balance won't be messed up with cc account.

I would say CIMB 0% BT programme is the BEST, as we need to settle only monthly minimum payment with no interest charged. Prior to the expiry of 6 months, we can then transfer the BT outstanding balance to another 0% BT programme from other bank like MBB which offers 0% interest for 12 months. This will allow part of our money be stayed in the bank and earn a little bit of interest. However, for MBB BT programme, the installment will be split equally giving us no chance to do another BT to other banks again. Therefore, for those who spend big and would like to benefit from the 0% BT, it is better to first do BT from CIMB.

I don't actually promote BT here. It is only beneficial to those who are discipline. Before we decide to swipe the card, we should have already had enough reserve fund to pay.

Tks for sharing.
just wanna ask, did maybank created a new 16 digit account for BT in your visa CC account?

For my case, no. And it should be the same with all other Maybankard holders who have done BT to Maybank.
*
Thks.

Take maybank visa as example, i BT 12k from another bank to maybank. i now take the zero % plan with monthly installment is . What if the GST charge of RM50 comes in the second month (2nd installment)? what's the payment hierarchy then?
thanks in advance for helping.

Sorry. I don't quite get your question. Can you please explain further what is it that you are asking ?
*
sorry for my poor english.
1st installment = i pay 1k
2nd installment= i pay 1k+RM50 GST.
does the RM50 i pay extra go to clear the RM50 GST.... or it's used to pay additional to reduce the BT on next month, march.

some bank is very 'cunning', you have to clear all the BT first, then only followed by retail transaction. meaning to say, unless you can clear all the BT balance (also retail transaction) after you make retail transaction, otherwise you will sure kena interest on retail transaction.

If I put the 30k in M1 a/c, at 4.5% interest
= RM1,350 interest charge for 1 year

*
i think you amaunt of $$ in M1 is reducing as you need to take them out to pay the monthly installement.

My outstanding amount is still >100k  tongue.gif and every month, I dump in X amount to cover more than the monthly installment.
Which means the 30k is consider as "Fixed Deposit", but FD earns me ~3% only, whereas house loan interest is eating me 4.5-5.5%
*
if you have extra money to cover the monthly installment and leave the 30K untouched.. .then i think your plan will work out.

Maybank will do an Inter-bank GIRO to the CC you transfer the balance from...
*
yeah, usually bank will do the interbank transfer. i have tried PBB, CIMB.
This is another option for maybank. but.. yesterday when i called, the CS told me that MBB might use cheque to make the payment. sad.gif

btw, do you have any idea how long does it take (after it's approved) for the IBG transfer?

the longest 0% BT now is maybank 12 months.
CIMB and OCBC are also having 6 months

P/S: my BT at Maybank is approved. It's much faster than i expected... less than 10 working days.

Maybank 0% BT will expired this 30/4
Just went there apply a new card and submit the BT form together with the application form...hope can get approved for the BT (0%) .
They having new offer for new cards.. "2 Maybankard 2 cards" one is AMEX card and one master card.. Finance charge only 8.88% dunno ok anot...
*
I think the timing is very important. it will be good that you at least pay the minimum payment for the CC that you want to do the BT. because you will not know how long/soon the process at MBB will take.

my minimum payment are rm260 and i pay off rm 350 every months...but the interest shocking.gif charge me over rm60 every months...
that y i wan to do BT now sad.gif

ok.. that means the bank is already charging you the interest as you are not pay the full amount.

in that case, pls follow up closely with maybank, the earlier it gets approved, the more interest you saved.

Hi, i have an outstanding of nearly between 7k-8k from citi, scb, amex and cimb.

card with 0 outstanding:
maybank
amex (2nd amex card)

I plan to settle in within & max 2 years, any recommendation of which bank?

or the way i should settle the outstanding?
*
at this moment, i think you can do the BT from other bank to CIMB ,before the 0% promotion ends end of next month.

QUOTE(VGirl @ May 10 2011, 02:50 AM)
hi..just wondering and it might be a stupid question

can i BT my cc using other person's cc?
let say my dad or my bfs'?

ive MBB cc almost reaching the 5k credit limit, and at da same time ive another 3 months of installment, AND, ive another 400++ unsettled minimum payment (last time skipped payment  sad.gif )
da reason is i keep on paying extras for interest charge  cry.gif  id pay and paid rm250 to cover da installment + charge everymonth and it seems like a neverending story  cry.gif

ive EON cc too with 3k credit limit bt ive no problem with that, and not planning to do BT at da moment
i applied for PBB cc to do bt but has been rejected..tell me exactly what do i need to do now. thanks
p/s i got MBB with 5k coz my car loan is under them
while EON with 3k limit is what am qualified for  sad.gif

*
No, only can BT under the same name, same person.
actually BT is a way to save some interest charges. if you hve CIMB direct access , you can do the BT.

keep in mind that you must always pay at least the min. payment. skipping payment will result in bad records. you could hv some problem when applying for loan/cc next time. i'm not sure if PBB rejection is due to this.

i think maybe now you should consider the personal loan to settle all your bill first.

maybe other sifu could have better suggestion here to help you? smile.gif

Can. I just did that. Steps:

(1) 20+ Apr 2011  Fax in new CIMB CC application.
(2) Early May CC approved and received card by PosLaju. (<2 weeks)
(3) 4 May Fax in BT form
(4) 6 May BT Approved (2 working days)
(5) 10 May BT paid out (another 2 working days)
*
providing that the CC is approved. Otherwise, you can't apply for BT.

Hi guys, sad case for me
I applied for BT from HSBC to CIMB last week, at CIMB Sunway Pyramid (the card centre), and until yesterday, I call CIMB to follow up see if my application successful, the CS told me they didnt receive my application sad.gif

Which make me to visit The Gardens CIMB again yesterday, the teller there told me as long as I pay the minimum payment, HSBC will not charge interest on my outstanding balance, is it true? since my due date is 31/5, and I am not sure if the BT application will success or not ...
*
you will definately be charged interest for the outstanding balance. This is for sure.
you can actually call to check the application status. no need to visit the branch.

I called to check the status yesterday morning, customer service officer @ card centre said didnt received any application under my name sad.gif
*
how did you submit the app. form? via branch or fax? usually Fax is better.
for your case, you may consider to resubmit the app. form. And pay at least the min. payment before the due date.

For CIMB BT program, does paying 5% to the BT account will increase available CL month-by-month basis ?
*
yes, your CL will increase with the amount e.g. 5% you pay. but 5 % is not so much ler. hope this answer your question. smile.gif

Somehow I feel that even after making the payment to the BT / CC account - the process of revising the available credit limit really take some time compare to other banks. unsure.gif
*

[/quote]

yeah, it will some sometime to revise the credit limit. btw, i'm using DA for BT. i think the impact is minimal unless you made a huge payment to the BT account.
