QUOTE(der.msia @ Mar 16 2011, 08:40 PM) OCBC took 5 workings ways for me... IBG OCBC is super efficient. Just faxed the BT application form this morning. A few hours later, I can see the BT amount charged into my Titanium online statement. However, it is not reflected yet in my Citibank online statement. I assumed there is no interest charged during the 6 months period although the BT amount is showing in the statement. Hope my assumption is right.

Dear all experts....
I'm new to Balance Transfer, and would like to get some help.
Currently I'm a UOB bank Visa credit card user...the only one I have.
Would like to make a balance transfer to the best promotion around (heard should be either CIMB or Maybank).
How I'm going to do it? I heard the promotion from CIMB is only for existing CIMB card members...how about Maybank?
I did some cash advances from UOB card before....will that fail my application for a balance transfer? I think I never pay late for my monthly payment though.
Life been hard...hope you guys can help me out.
Thanks everyone...

No, the cash advance would not affect your BT application unless your credit record is bad, i.e. you have late payments for your loans or credit card, then your application for another credit card may be rejected by the issuer.

Thank you very much for the fruitful reply. If that's the case, can I apply something like for a new card + BT at the same time? I'm worried I will get rejected only. I think I've never late for payments. Which bank is the most convenience and easily will approve the application. Thanks... This post has been edited by greeny88: Mar 18 2011, 11:15 PM

I don't know which bank presently you can apply for card together with BT, even if there is such an offer, I would recommend that you apply for the card first and see if it gets approved. Reason being is because if your application takes a long time to process, then the bank you applying for the new card would not make payment to UOB until your application has been approved and you may end up paying interest on your UOB card. click below link to my blog read more on BT, would recommend either CIMB or MBB as more "direct" in terms of payment. http://creditcardsmalaysia.blogspot.com/20...fer-2011-0.html

I was informed by the CS that the issue is due to system limitation. I have to call CS every month to reverse out the interest charges on the BT amount. It's a hassle.

for MBB, after u faxed in, wait for 3 days for them to update the system. you can call them after 4th or 5th working day after u faxed in, MBB is so slow, and they dont want to inform customer whether they have received it or not.

Just applied Maybank 2 Gold Cards....read the description. Quite attractive....what do you think, bro? CIMB charging annual fee for gold cards (RM140), so I gave up on that. I hope the application goes well and I can do balance transfer soon...
