Of course you can. But bear in mind CIMB will look into your CL. You don't necessarily look for a card to fully cover the balance.

Most (if not all) banks do not give reward pts for trxn such as BT,cash on call, cheque on call, late payment, finance charge, GST etc.

For the past 4 BT with CIMB, it has been pleasant experience as they always settle the Giro payment on time even though the due date was just 10 days away.

upon receiving 6th statement, cardmember must settle the remaining balance in full before the due date stated on the statement.

The fastest payment I have seen was 3 days, after submitting via email. That was certainly first class service!

But they are just doing their job based on SOP.
Sometimes I purposely paid more to TNB in order to make my OCBC outstanding balance exceed RM1,000 so that can BT to CIMB.

My best experience was within 3 days upon approval.

To be exact, you need to furnish the LATEST STATEMENT. One is enough.

To my knowledge, Maybank BT is installment type.

How to fill in the card number in the BT form ? There are 4 x 4 = 16 boxes. Amex only got 15 digits.

1. Maybank does NOT accept BT application from another BT account. Strictly CARD ACCOUNTS only.

2. "How do you know it's a card or BT?"
By looking at the account number the bank will know it is a BT or card.

3. Must I transfer 100% statement balance?
No, you can transfer any lesser amount (min RM1,000).

4. Is there early settlement penalty?
No, cardholders may make early settlement anytime without a fee.

I think so.
Balance transfer account is attached to credit card account, because it withdraws credit limit from our credit cards.

Speaking of this, my mother managed to maintain her DirectAccess Premier Plus Account (PPA) despite the termination of her DA supplementary card. This PPA is indeed an ideal choice for those who have difficulty maintaining certain fund balance in the account.
