just call them to waive it every month. Those CS sure will tell you not to spend anything on your card until you fully settle your BT

The first time waiver will happen on goodwill gesture basis only.

Ronnie,

Aint the UOB's BT 0% program from New-To-Bank will create you a separate account showing the BT amount?

No, I just BT 80% of my AEON Card limit. My CCRIS very healthy and I never make late payment. I already send email and shoot them and hoping they can give me good reason.
Else, this is the good sharing if you guys plan to use their 0% BT plan, its something like cheaing.

UOB's BT 0% program from New-To-Bank may cause me to pay Finance charges for retail spends. .... still getting UOB CS and UOB card agent to clarify for me.

Ronnie, did you asked UOB CS if the payment channel to retail transaction first before balance transfer?
Not sure if you were told that UOB balance transfer repayment is equal-monthly-repayment (say BT RM6k, each month has to pay RM1k, not 5%).

The BT for New-to-Bank seems to be different i.e. not fixed equal payment.

UOB is a very EVIL bank...

Payment hierachy in the following order :
1. Late charges and Finance Charges
2. New Retail Spends
3. Balance Transfer

Let's quote example...
BT Amount : RM10000 (0% 6-month)
Retail Transaction : RM500
Total Due : RM10500
Payment : RM1000 (RM500 + RM500)
Balance left over : RM9500

Next month's bill
Finance charges = 500 x 17.5% cry.gif cry.gif mad.gif vmad.gif

I've asked for splitting the BT account from UOB CC account (as mentioned by Sales Agent)
If the above fails, I will NOT use the UOB ONE Card for the next 5 months... DAMN !!!!

haha agree UOB EVIL bank, I have to swipe 60 times to get annual fee waived.

But you know what, in you eagerly wanting the BT plan, you overlooked the Terms and Conditions. UOB's plan is no different from HSBC 0% BT plan that was mentioned in the past in this thread. Most foreign banks practice payment hierarchy which is applicable to BT too. And you know what, I still don't understand the above calculation rclxub.gif and don't intend too.

next time when u buy RM60 goods u ask the merchandiser to swap your card 60 times, each time RM1 transaction. Then it will fulfill their requirement.

To be honest the 5% cash rebate from Petrol could cover the 1.5% finance charge also.

i have experienced with 0% from OCBC, you can ask for waiver for the finance charges provided you always pay in full (5% BT + retails). but very tired to call every month for the next 6 months

But UOB's Finance Charges posted on Statement Date. Is it the same with OCBC? So do we pay that amount if we ask for waiver?

yes same on statement date, my experience I did pay the interest at first but the waiver will be shown in the next statement meaning you can pay less next month + the next month interest if you still has retail transactions. then need to call again

Just want to share out on MBF lastest balance program.

- You can only transfer maximum of 80% of your credit limit
- 5.99% will be charge up front (1 time only)
- 3 type of repayment depends on your BT amount
a) RM1,000 - RM12,000 - replyment of RM99 per month
b) RM 13,000 - RM17,000 - repayment of RM199 per month
c) RM17,000 above - repayment of RM299 per month
the period of the repayment is your total BT amount + 5.99% divide by RM99/RM199/RM299 depends on which category you fall into.

- The repayment period may more than 10 years with only 5.99% interest

- 1 more T & C which is you must swipe RM300 per month to enjoy 0% of charge of the particular month else you will be charge the retail interest % base on individual

- No additional account created, it will credit the installment amount to your CC month

Any comments?

not a bad idea if you take a BIG BT to settle the housing loan

Reason is because I redrafted the entire article to emphasize to others what ronnie and cenkudu experienced on being charged interest for doing 0% BT. Not that I understand how it works but if I fail to highlight this matter to others then it would defeat the purpose of me writing an article on BT.
