hahaha, just the way I described Gen Y - product of our education system, just want fast answer without working for it.

I guess for your case I'll make it short - Maybankard 2 Cards Gold. If you want it fast, go to Maybank 1U or KLCC card centre. Want more info, go read below article, that is if you free and no headaches tongue.gif
http://creditcardsmalaysia.blogspot.com/20...-cimb-visa.html

And by the way, can you pay your PTPTN loan with Credit Card?
*
hmm.gif hmm.gif , to be honest I had no idea at all on whether can be paid or not. Was thinking the same thing last night. Well, since I have sometime today, will be doing some reading during lunch time. I do like to do more research on a particular thing, but with a limited time and unlimited meetings to attend, I can hardly find anytime to do so.

I guess you did not read previous posts where it was replied many times you got to decide you want cash back or air-miles. Do a search on "air miles" to read some of the relevant post. And presently no cash back credit card allows free access to airport lounges.

For cash back and mainly petrol, you can choose between OCBC Titanium MasterCard, UOB One CArd and Maybanard 2 CArd.
Click here to read my article on UOB One CArd where U have prepared a table comparing cash back cards.

Having said above, do check out RHB Travel Money card where they do give cash back for petrol and your points are redeemable for airmiles. Click here to RHB site to read more on the card)

For LCCT access, please go to this thread on airport lounge or or click this link to read my article. Read it and you'll know that the Alliance Debit Card that gives 1.5% cash back do grant you free access to LCCT PPL but there's a monthly quota.

Maybankard 2 Gold.
Since your spending is claimable, so the 2.5% conversion factor for using Amex overseas is not an issue anymore.
Use Maybankard 2 Amex if the merchant accepts Amex, otherwise use Maybankard 2 Visa/Mastercard.

I have to agree with chemistry that Maybankard 2 Gold Cards.

However my reason for recommending because Maybankard Visa or MasterCard overseas conversion rate is the lowest. And for local use, you get 5X TP and cash back with the AMEX.
As for chem saying that "Since your spending is claimable, so the 2.5% conversion factor for using Amex overseas is not an issue anymore", this is ethically wrong as far as I am concerned. Knowing that the AMEX rate is higher and thus incurring more cost to the company, one should not use it and get the 5X TP for personal gain.

1. Annual Income: RM30K to RM36K.

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably.

3. Card required for: I'm a frequent traveler so my priority is to benefit the most in terms of AirMiles. Apart from that, the card is also for Petrol, Cash Back/Rebate and Overseas Transactions.

4. Existing credit cards if any: None.

5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: None.

6. Others: Preferably credit cards which can be managed via online banking.

7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: RM1K to RM5K.

Additional:

When talking about travel benefits, I know there are two types of card which may be relevant.

1. Airline flexible cards (which earns you reward points each time you spend that are convertible to AirMiles).

2. Airline specific card like AirAsia Citibank card (which earns you AirAsia points each time you spend). I don't know of any other Airline specific card that is relevant to Malaysians traveling from Malaysia though.

If it is possible, please advice on both Airline flexible cards and Airline specific cards (which one would be better for the above needs). Thanks.

Hi Snigapoe,

I am well aware of that, I think I should point out to you the spending 'range' that TS stated in his first post (Less than RM1K or RM1K to RM5K or RM10K and above). The range was stated in such a way 'RM1k to RM5k' so to avoid hassle, I was just simply quoting it, got it? I won't be spending RM5k per month obviously, I may be new to credit card but I still know how to manage wink.gif

Why so many people want airmiles when they have no idea on how it works?

Anyway, most CC allows you to redeem for MA Enrich points. However next year MA going with some other system, can't remember what's is called.

As for flexible Airline, checkout Citibank PremierMiles - Min Income RM60K p.a.

Also, those who benefit from AirMiles are those who fly frequently like your case BUT the other criteria is you got to be a big spender too. For your case, it is better that you opt for cash back cards and get up RM600 annually (or even more) with just RM12K spending per year.

Here's what hye quoted back in April 2011, which I am going to post in the first post today.

QUOTE(hye @ Apr 23 2011, 05:32 PM)
Just to add ... for analysis and informative purposes.
Should anyone is thinking to redeem AirMiles (e.g Enrich), the lowest/cheapest return ticket to Singapore is 15,000.
Conversion to AirMiles depends on the respective bank (e.g MBB 7000 TP -> 1000 Enrich)

(Assuming that I use MBB as my card) Means you need to spend RM105K (105/7=15) before you are able to get that flight ticket to Singapore.
If anyone is thinking to spend RM1K per month, you need to spend consistently RM1K per month for the nearly 9 years before earning that ticket.

Please note that Airline Miles redemption, you are still viable for the Airport Tax and Surcharges. Points multipliers (e.g. MBB2 AMEX) may speed up your points collection.

Good luck!
