Citibank Clear Card.
- Income requirement RM18,000
- Can pay various bills in Citibank Online

The downside is, this card does not earn points for petrol transactions.
You may want to get a PB Esso Mobil Visa debit card which gives 1% cash rebate on Esso/Mobil purchases, and it is free for life.

Most of not all of us would agree that Maybankard Dua & OCBC Ti is a must-have.
However, when one does not meet the income requirement of these two cards, shall we still advise him go for the combo or so-called "try your luck"?

not for OCBC Ti, as they are strict
different case for MBB2, they are desperate, and also he preferred MBB
*
I think MBB is not as desperate as of one month ago.
Previously we heard many cases where one got issued new card by just clicking I'm Interested.
I asked my sister to do the same, but MBB just called and asked my sister to fax them the form and supporting docs.

Guys, i need some help here, what bank would be able to provide me a credit card asap if i apply by today or tomorrow or monday? I need the credit card to be available before 8th April as i would need it before i'm going to US for a business trip.

1. Annual Income: 60 - 100k?
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: No
3. Card required for: Overseas Transactions
4. Existing credit cards if any: Maybank Visa
5. Looking at CC from: anywhere in Klang Valley
6. Others: I need the credit card to be available before 8th April as i would need it before i'm going to US for a business trip

MBB's non-Amex cards have the most competitive forex rate for foreign trxn. Perhaps you should just stick to your MBB Visa.

However, if your company is reimbursing all your expenses (including credit card admin charge), Maybankard 2 Amex's 5X TreatsPoint is very attractive. Quickly walk in Maybank Card Centre for faster action.

Other suggestion would be Standard Chartered's Business Visa Platinum which gives TRIPLE choice points for foreign trxn and an uncapped 0.5% cashback.

1. Annual Income: Above RM30k
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must
3. Card required for: Petrol, AirMiles, Overseas Transactions, Free LCCT and KLIA Lounge Access, Online Shopping, Discount at airport duty free and other free perks.
4. Existing credit cards if any: Maybank Visa Classic.
5. Looking at CC from: CIMB.
*
Cards that earn AirMiles and grant access to LCCT Lounge usually are premium cards and have high income requirement.

For Airport Duty Free promo, CIMB premier cards (at least Visa Signature) has got 15% discount for purchases made in Eraman Duty Free Shop.

I'm afraid no cards match your conditions.

Thanks alexwsk and chemistry for your replies.
Hi Gen-X, let me try again below -

1. Annual Income: RM 84k ~ RM 100k (Not Constant cause own business)
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must
3. Card required for: Petrol, AirMiles, Overseas Transactions, Free LCCT and KLIA Lounge Access, Online Shopping, Discount at airport duty free and other free perks if available.
4. Existing credit cards if any: Maybank Visa Classic (Limit RM 52K)
5. Looking at CC from: Any Banks

I do not need to have all the above mention requirements, just the best available card that is best suited for the above mention requirements.
*
You may want to try:
1. CITIBANK PREMIERMILES
- Earn AirMiles
- Free 12 visits to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge
- Free 2 visits to PriorityPass Airport Lounges around the world

2. CIMB ENRICH GOLD
- Earn EnrichMiles (for MAS, RM1 = 1 Enrich Mile ; for overseas spending, RM4 = 2 Enrich Mile)
- Spend RM50k in a year to get 100% annual fee waiver.

3. Alliance Premier Debit Card
- For access to KLIA and LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge

For petrol trxn, you definitely have to go for Maybankard 2 Amex thumbup.gif

Annual Income: RM 180,000 (approx)
Free lifetime annual Fee: not really important since ive never paid for such fees in the past 10 years
Cards required for: grocery shopping, travel, etc (fuel not required since covered by company)
Existing cards: HSBC Platinum, Citibank Platinum

My main card is the HSBC which ive been using for many years. Citibank rarely used except for access to the Plaza Premium lounge at KLIA. Recently, i cashed out my points in HSBC (approx 640,000 points). So am wondering if i should continue using my HSBC / Citibank or is there a better card out there?
*
Maybankard 2 Platinum:
- M2 Amex earns 5X TreatsPoints (might very likely be offset by high admin charges by Amex)
- M2 Amex earns additional 5% cashback on weekends (max RM50 per month)
- M2 Visa/MC generally offers good forex rate which in turns translate to greater savings
- No access to any lounge

SCB Business Platinum Visa:
- Triple Choice Points for overseas spending (which implies to 1.5% cashback)
- Unlimited access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge
- 0.5% uncapped cashback on all purchases except petrol

For groceries purpose, you ought to get OCBC Titanium Mastercard to earn 5% cashback everyday (also subject to max RM50 per month). Please refer to OCBC Titanium thread for the list of 5% merchants compiled by forummers here.

Gen-X don't like non-guaranteed cashback promotion. LOL.
All of us want a confirmed answer, something like "Spend RMXXXX and get rewarded by X% cashback, no strings attached, guaranteed cashback".

amex got their guaranteed cashback promotion also but lots of ppl complained they didnt get the cashback they deserved.
*
Do you mean the 15% cashback? No it is not guaranteed. In my opinion, "first-come-first-serve" cashback payout cannot be deemed as guaranteed. The cardmembers totally have no idea when the total cashback is exhausted. By the time Amex made announcement, most of the time it is a delayed announcement.

any implications if i constantly accept their cards and cancelling within the next few months or so?
thanks.

if u earn >36k per annum, you may hold as may cards as you like.
Speaking of "worth" or not, it depends "do you need it or not".

The bolded part , you really need to have it clarified. Ask them to produce black & white statement, otherwise ignore the offer.

Too many come in here complain about being hoaxed by "NO GST charged" but in fact it is caused by their own negligence and greed.

With Maybankard 2 Amex, you get to earn 5X TreatsPoints on any time, any thing, any place.

Try to apply OCBC Titanium first.

If unsuccessful, then only turn to Maybankard 2 Gold. But mind you, to earn 5X TreatsPoints using Amex you need to enrol EXPRESS AUTOPAY for your TNB/SYABAS/CELCOM/MAXIS/DIGI/ASTRO bills. Maxis Centre (Bangsar, TTDI, KLCC) accept Amex, but who will want to spend time looking for parking at such a busy place? Everybody is talking about "Online payment". Unfortunately Amex has not provided such facility yet.

Bro, 5X TP for all transaction with Maybankard 2 AMEX transaction lah.

Just to add, there is a misconception about the 5X MR for American Express Gold Credit Card too, you don't need to register EXPRESS AUTOPAY to get 5X Membership Reward points for Telco. For my previous AMEX Gold CC, I just went to DiGi, Maxis and CElcom and did auto debit and I do get 5X MR. Now all transferred to Maybankard 2 Amex as I intend to terminate the AMEX Gold CC.
Well you mentioned your income RM30K on paper that means you can proof it right?
*
Bro Gen-X, yes I do know that.
It is because zodius mentioned that he uses cc mainly to pay bills and pump petrol, therefore I remind him M2 Amex cannot do online bill payment but EXPRESS AUTOPAY. Well I might miss out AUTO DEBIT, my bad rolleyes.gif

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must
3. Card required for: List all your needs. Petrol, Groceries, Online Trans
4. Existing credit cards if any: DirectAccess
5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: Any
6. Others: Please be specific. : FFL supp cards, if can offset GST for principal and supp would be very beneficial
7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: RM1K to RM5K
*
OCBC TITANIUM
GST waiver for annual spending >10K
Annual fee waiver for 12 swipes in a year

Supp card gets GST waiver for spending >5K
Automatic annual fee waiver IF principal card gets waiver.

OCBC Online can pay Celcom,Digi, maxis,Astro,TNB,Syabas,Municipal councils, etc.
TM bill can be paid via TM Online or PayOnline.

Since you spend more than 1K every month, one OCBC TITANIUM is not enough. You can also apply for Maybankard 2 (Amex Visa/Mastercard). Two cards, 1 GST (not waivable but can be offset by 10,000 TreatsPoints which you can accumulate in no time).

How long normally it takes to process Public Bank Credit Card Gold Visa?
I just apply it today and I need it urgently as I need to go to oversea in 2 weeks time. This is the 1st time im applying for credit card. My annual salary is rm130K.
*
you still have the time to apply either MAYBANKARD 2 PLATINUM or MBB PLATINUM VISA.

Call PBB to withdraw the application. Then quickly go to Maybankard Centre at 1Utama/KLCC/Menara Maybank to apply.

I think MBB VISA PLATINUM will get priority processing since it's a premium card. Usually take less than half day to produce the card(to my best knowledge)

Besides competitive forex rate, this card also earns double TreatsPoints for overseas spending.
