Can't be grateful enough for this info, thanks again Gen-X smile.gif

Oh btw I forgot to mention that I am also required by my company to travel overseas as well soon. Therefore, any recommendations of credit card that is widely accepted everywhere? A good cashback/rebates etc is a bonus.

This is because some of my relatives happened to have their cards declined for shopping/dining etc when they are abroad.

For overseas, better to have more than one card issuer just in case. I hate to say this, not really ethical, however if you put that aside; for your company expenses, use MBB 2 AMEX and earn 5X TP or 2.5%. For emergency cash withdrawal overseas, UOB Debit Card is pretty good but they charge RM12 per transaction.

1. Annual Income: Around rm30-40k
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must.
3. Card required for: Petrol rebate / TNB / Govt Tax/ Insurance/Groceries/food
4. Existing credit cards if any: CITI Classic
5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: Any
6. Others: -
7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: Around RM400 to 500 for petrol only - mostly petronas, ins- 150+, less than RM800 spend on card per month

For UOB One or OCBC Titanium, both has 5% cash back difference are RM30/50 cap.
Both Annual fee waived requirement may achieved, only that OCBC titanium required RM10k spending per year to waived. No idea about UOB.

Kindly advise, thx!

Bro, since you got MBB Loan and you want MBB cards, you can either call up MBB Customer Service or go to MBB Card Centre at MBB HQ or call MBB Tele Marketing Centre or just go to the branch you have the loan and apply for the card. The contact numbers can be obtained from MBB website.

Total with documents to prove. Some banks could be strict while some could be lenient.

CIMB is the most lenient so far that I encountered.

I tried HSBC, CIMB DA, MBB, UOB, Citibank and OCBC.

Yes, I agree. My first card came from CIMB DA, I was still a fresh grad and still waiting for my convocation, they already gave me that card.
MBB, I was lucky to be chosen by them to be offered.
Now I'm going to try my luck on the strict OCBC for its Titanium.

You can get the card easier if you have record with the bank, specifically:

a) Housing loan
b) Hire purchase or
c) Payroll.

If you are their prospect customer, they will contact you from their CRM system (provided their system is intelligent enuf) to offer you the CC.

Ya agree. I applied both MBB and OCBC, OCBC asked me to wait for more payslip (just changed company) before applying while MBB already approved due to my new job payroll account is with MBB.

Well, I do think PBB credit card is not one of the better ones as far as standard card features are concerned tongue.gif Go for Maybankard 2 Cards. Click here to my article Entry Level Credit Card to find out why.

Maybankard credit cards are accepted at many places for 0% installment plans including SenQ, and Harvey Harvey Norman.

Thanks. smile.gif The reason why I list Maybank and PBB is because I already have an ATM card for both banks and I kinda want all my cards to be under those two banks instead of various cards for different banks. I'm not sure if that's a good idea though. I feel that it might be hard to keep track if I'm with too many banks. I'm still new to this so thats kinda what I think...

Often a selection of credit card to use would be based on what sort of cards would benefit you most / personal spending pattern.
Everybody have their preferences, likes and etc. And not forgetting you can't hold too many cards in your income braket thus the selection would need to be thought out wisely.

While your decision/preference is convenient for you but would it benefit you best? Give it some thought.
If you are happy then it is fine.
