General platinum CC requirement needs annual gross income of RM 60k.

Entry level of platinum CC requires annual gross income of RM 48k such UOB ONE Platinum and Citibank Cash Back Platinum.

UOB One Platinum only requires 36k.
However it has annual fees of RM 338 and will be waived if you swipe once every month and spending must be more than RM 3k per year, I think la.

I was also doing research on UOB One Platinum but I think I'll go for OCBC Titanium.

What is the income require for OCBC Titanium. If you're big spender, UOB ONE Platinum cash rebate is not capped (I believe so). OCBC Titanium has a monthly cap of RM 50.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I didn't find such clause at UOB ONE website.

Also 36k but I'm not a big spender, I'm afraid I can't meet the RM 3k base and have to pay for the whopping annual fees. sweat.gif
I think no, not that sure either. My main concern is on the annual fees.

If you are a big spender, the UOB One Card Plat or Classic is not the card to get as you only earn 0.3% cash back for most transactions. Even MBB 2 Visa or MC is better with 0.5% cash back. Petrol only cap up to RM600. The UOB One Card is great for those who need a card for petrol less than RM600/month.

You're correct. At least HLB Essential gives 1% unlimited cash rebate for all transactions. It'll be a better candidate to consider if you already have MBB2 AMEX or OCBC Titanium.

RM3000 annual for Insurance.
*
OCBC Titanium MasterCard for your Dining RM400 + Utility RM500 = RM900 (Balance RM100)
MBB 2 AMEX on weekend RM600-RM1K (Balance up to RM400)

Noted you have CIMB Petronas which means you pump at Petronas. Since Petrol is your top priority, go get UOB One Card and earn 5% cash back for Petrol for up to RM600 and once you reach this cap, use the balance with OCBC TMC or MBB2 AMEX (at non Petronas on Saturday and Sunday and earn 5X TP too, that's if you still have balance). With these 3 cards, you can earn up to RM130/month. And to maximize earning from UOB One Card, go pump at BHP smile.gif Please read UOB Thread and Petrol Thread.

As for airmiles, read first post and I guess the MBB 5X Treats Points earned with the MBB2 AMEX should be good for your case. For Enrich comparison, click here to see my table comparing different Premier Credit Cards where you can qualify for the Citibank PremierMiles.

For LCCT, click here to read my article on Free Entry to LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge with Credit and Debit Cards.. Based on your income, you should be able to qualify for Citibank PremierMiles and AMEX Kris Flyer and even AMEX Platinum Credit Card. However, to get the AMEX Platinum credit cards annual fee waived, you got to spend a reasonable sum with the card. I guess it would be easier to get the annual fee waived for the Citibank PremierMiles where the first year is FREE. Click here to read my review on Citibank PremierMiles Visa Signature.

As for insurance RM3000, no diff lah which card you use, even with 1% cash back, you only earn RM30 which is less than the RM50 GST. So no point I recommend you any new card as your existing cards that earns you 1X points should earn you more.

As for the CIMB and SCB cards, well do you make use of their promotions and discount offers? If yes, go figure out how much you save. CIMB Petronas credit card good on 1st of every month at Petronas smile.gif

You spend more than RM1K, to maximize your returns, you need 2 cards.

1st card to get is Maybankard 2 Cards (annual income RM30K) where you'll be issued an AMEX and MasterCard or Visa. The MBB 2 AMEX earns you both 5% cash back (on Sat and Sun) and 5X Treats Points (everyday) and therefore meet your requirements of exchange points for gift and cash back. At places that does does accept AMEX, you still can use the MasterCard or Visa.and earn 1X TP.

Second card to get is try and apply for OCBC Titanium MasterCard (annual income RM36K), card is good - 5% cash back for Petrol, Dining, Telco, Utiliy and Groceries everyday and 1% cash back for general transactions.

Click here to read more about Maybankard 2 Cards versus OCBC Titanium MasterCard.

Click here to read my article Apple iPad2 for RM999 with Maybank Treats Points. Besides doing redemption for gift, you can do on the spot redemption for cash vouchers at many places with Maybank Treats Points.

Wow! Got a Financial Planner asking for our advise  tongue.gif

Your HLB Essesntial earns you nothing for Petrol. So first card to get is OCBC Titanium MasterCard which earns you 5% cash back for Petrol, Utilities, Groceries, Dining and Telco Everyday. However, since you do spend more than RM1K, go get the Maybankard 2 Cards where the AMEX  earns you 5X TP everyday (equivalent to 2.5% approximately in cash back) AND EXTRA 5% cash back for all types of face to face transactions on Saturdays and Sundays. Please click on links I posted in my above replies to others to read more about Cash Back Cards and to see comparison.

Recommend you click here and read my article Earn Pocket Money with Your Credit Cards. I hope you'll recommend my article to your clients too and help them earn extra pocket money  tongue.gif

Too bad you AIA agent, else you the OCBC GE Card is great for those with GE Insurance.

Bro, do you even bother to read what I posted? Did not I mention ALL type of face to face transactions? So YES, applicable to car and house down payment, that is if they accept AMEX and you got to remember the cash back is capped at RM50/month but the 5X TP is unlimited.

Thanks David, My annual salary more than 60k, my monthly spend on CC around 1-1.5k.

7-8 yrs back, when I was in BIZ trip in Vietnam and I hold the Maybank credit card, they do not recognised it when I wanna to pay my hotel rental, lucky I own HSBC CC.

I'm not sure if oversea still having such issue, but my thought is to have only one card with more credit to allow me handle bills.

Did you guys recommend HSBC card ? so which card suit me most ?

I'm okay with RM50 charge, but not the case for few hundred charge, of coz the best is free smile.gif

Please do not shoot me as I'm family man, i would rather spend few hundred for my saving smile.gif

Thanks in advance !

Many Thanks Gen-X.

With my existing 2 cards - OCBC Titanium and Maybank Amex, I should able to save RM100 per month for RM2000 spending.

For RM3000 Insurance, I'll use my SCB for RM3000 to earn some points.

Let me think again on my next credit card on Citibank Premier for travel. Dunno whether really worth it to apply a card for this. smile.gif

Gen-X, appreciate if you could advise me the best credit card to choose from

1. Annual Income: RM36K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: No

3. Card required for: Listed according to my priority.

a) Local/Overseas Online Shopping at eBay etc (Mostly Overseas shopping, so a card that is internationally recognised would really help)
b) Bills (Celcom, Unifi, TNB)
c) Shopping at Giants/Tesco/local groceries etc,

4. Existing credit cards if any:
a) Maybank 2 Cards - Master + Amex

Special request Gen-X, hope you could suggest a number of credit cards in a ranking according to your recommendations based on highest CL, cashback/rebates etc as I 'd like to have as many credit cards as possible.

Thanks a lot.

hahaha, you also got some kind of fetish with Credit Card Credit Limit like rockefeller ar tongue.gif Currently, you already have the best cash back credit card for local transaction, i.e. Maybankard 2 AMEX where you can earn 7.5% returns on Saturdays and Sundays biggrin.gif Click here to see a comparison table of cash back credit cards.

Bro, you left out one important info, that's how much you spend a month, But with income RM36K, I guess you should not be spending more than RM2K/month.

Since you already have the MBB2 Cards, you should get the OCBC Titanium MasterCard where you can earn 5% cash back everyday for your Celcom, Unifi and TNB Bills plus also at Giant and Tesco. This OCBC TMC compliments any credit cards out there.

For overseas transaction, your MBB MasterCard should be adequate (based on your annual income eligibility). Go check out MBB 2 Card Thread Post #2 where jchong have taken the trouble to show the diff between Amex and MC. But if you want to know; IMHO, the best credit card for Overseas Transaction is the Maybank Visa Infinite where you are sure to earn money from it. Click here to read about the benefit of Maybank Visa Infinite.

As for CL, as mentioned in the first post, we not the bank and therefore won't be able to tell you how much CL will be assigned to you. However, if you want to know my CL ranking, I have posted previously posted in my article titled Malaysia Credit Card Annual Income and Credit Limit. The article was posted exactly 1 year ago, therefore, since then my CL have changed too. If you use your credit card often, the banks will increase your CL with time and if you really need high CL, go get AMEX Charge Card.

Can't be grateful enough for this info, thanks again Gen-X smile.gif

Oh btw I forgot to mention that I am also required by my company to travel overseas as well soon. Therefore, any recommendations of credit card that is widely accepted everywhere? A good cashback/rebates etc is a bonus.

This is because some of my relatives happened to have their cards declined for shopping/dining etc when they are abroad.
