1. Annual Income: RM36K to RM48K (Only started to work. blush.gif)

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must.

3. Card required for: Cash rebate, groceries, electronic gadgets, good installment plans and petrol.

4. Existing credit cards if any: CIMB Direct Access (Gold MasterCard), Maybankard2Gold Cards (AmEx + VISA)

5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: Any bank

6. Estimated Spending per month with the card: Less than RM1K (usually) else less than RM 2k.

Can recommend me a credit card? Plan to add one soon or maybe in January 2012. smile.gif

I glanced few times to double checked if it was really fruitie that posted here laugh.gif

I think you should get the OCBC Ti. Probably the best card to go with M2C. It does not really have attractive installment plans but for you have Maybank for that.

Before getting the Ti, I used to wait till the weekend to swipe everything. I even pumped RM 5 before on a Friday just to bring me home and pump full tank on a Saturday. (tallking about kiasuness doh.gif ) But since I gotten the Ti, I alternate those cards between weekdays and weekends and I think it is working quite well so far.

laugh.gif Why is it a surprise to see me here? tongue.gif tongue.gif

Thanks, I should really look into OCBC Ti. biggrin.gif

I actually spend more during weekdays and tend to rest during weekends, actually I didn't really have the opportunity to utilise my AmEx weekend cash rebate. sad.gif

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Oct 1 2011, 06:46 PM)
For groceries and petrol get OCBC Titanium MasterCard. Get 5% cash back for Dining and Telco bills too.

For installment plans, your MBB Visa should be adequate since the list of merchants offering 0% with MBB cards is pretty long.
*
Alright, thanks! I should really check out this OCBC Ti. biggrin.gif

better cash rebate - OCBC TItanium
higher CL - UOB one card

i got both cards. I recommend u to get OCBC titanium. UOB one card is good for BHP petrol, GSC and sushi king.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Oct 3 2011, 09:41 AM)
For up to RM1K, definitely OCBC Titanium MasterCard if for Petrol (except BHP), Groceries, Dining and Utility Bills.  Credit limit > 5K useless with this card.

Recommend you read my articles:

Earn Pocket Money with Credit Cards. In this article I have scenarios on what card gives better returns for different spending pattern.

REvamp UOB One Card - It's A Pure Cash Back Card. There's a comparison table of different cash back cards for easy reference.
*
Thanks for the input. Yeah, after reading the comparison made by Gen-X, I can say I'm bought for the OCBC Ti.
Perfect card to pair up with my M2GC. biggrin.gif

Not forgetting UOB One Card's Platinum annual fees is so freaking expensive. sweat.gif

OCBC is difficult to get especially new comer. annual fee is waived for 5 years for UOB one card
*
Aww, that hurts. sad.gif No chance if I have other banks' cards with no record in delay payment and always make full payment?

Oh, I didn't know the UOB One Card's annual fee is waived for 5 years, I thought it requires minimum annual swipes.

Annual fees is waived for life.
GST is only charged to MasterCard and free for AmEx.
Yes, Maybankard2Gold Cards' requirement is only 30k per annual. smile.gif

I see, thanks for the tips because all this while I thought OCBC is quite strict when it comes to approval for OCBC Ti. biggrin.gif

The reason I got lazy to apply is I have this feeling my application will be rejected despite fulfills their requirements.

I don't have car and mortgage loan... But I have good credit card payment record, no delay and always in full. biggrin.gif

maybe ocbc really target cust for 36k range.

if earned twice, trice, then go to other card type or other bank lah.

so they wont get clean (no outstanding) cust. more profit laugh.gif
*
No such thing one la. biggrin.gif
If someone has the tendency to owe bank's money, no matter 36k, 72k or 108k per annum, they will still owe. biggrin.gif

Actually for his case, any card also will do since his company will reimburse him BUT if he was to consider Personal Gain, his MBB 2 AMEX is good with minimum 5X TP and if he wants to pay less upfront, he already got the best card i.e. MBB 2 MC.
*
The problem is before reimburse how? tongue.gif
Lower income, lower CL, susah lo.

Hello, we don't welcome rude people OK? You can get off from this thread if you act in such way.
Seems like your previous warn doesn't serve you any lesson eh? I shall add lengthy suspension to your account if you act in such manner again.
Many many branches? Are you sure?

the annual income is based on basic salary per months x 12 months? or is it include allowance, overtime claims, etc?
*
Annual = 1 year
So it RM xxxx (monthly basic) x 12 months = Annual Income
Well, if your allowance and overtime claims are fixed every month, then you can include. Else, I don't think that's possible.

1. Annual Income:

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must.

3. Card required for: Cash back/rebate, points redemption, buying large ticket items, option for 24/36 months interest free payment (not critical)

4. Existing credit cards if any: Nil

5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: Maybank, Public bank

6. Others: Interested to get a CC to pay for large ticket items without needing to bring cash along. Good for cashback, points when paying for gadgets.

7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: Typically per month <500, when need to buy gadgets then whatever it costs, but typically <3k. Maybe twice a year only.
*
If you don't input your annual income info, how to recommend you? smile.gif

Fixed income only. Your petrol money should be variable income.
So, it is RM 2,300 + 250?

General platinum CC requirement needs annual gross income of RM 60k.

Entry level of platinum CC requires annual gross income of RM 48k such UOB ONE Platinum and Citibank Cash Back Platinum.
*
UOB One Platinum only requires 36k.
However it has annual fees of RM 338 and will be waived if you swipe once every month and spending must be more than RM 3k per year, I think la.

I was also doing research on UOB One Platinum but I think I'll go for OCBC Titanium.

What is the income require for OCBC Titanium. If you're big spender, UOB ONE Platinum cash rebate is not capped (I believe so). OCBC Titanium has a monthly cap of RM 50.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I didn't find such clause at UOB ONE website.
*
Also 36k but I'm not a big spender, I'm afraid I can't meet the RM 3k base and have to pay for the whopping annual fees. sweat.gif
I think no, not that sure either. My main concern is on the annual fees.

CIMB is the most lenient so far that I encountered.

I tried HSBC, CIMB DA, MBB, UOB, Citibank and OCBC.
*
Yes, I agree. My first card came from CIMB DA, I was still a fresh grad and still waiting for my convocation, they already gave me that card.
MBB, I was lucky to be chosen by them to be offered.
Now I'm going to try my luck on the strict OCBC for its Titanium.
